I see a lot of people losing their jobs that they can't get back to on time. I know if I was n the magic right now I would not be enjoying it. I would know my job would be gone when I did get back.

Then perhaps you shouldn't go anywhere. There are absolutely no guarantees that nothing will ever occur where ever you go. That's life:)

If it were my family in that situation my husband would lose his job as he is still in his probationary period and his contract states if you miss a say for ANY reason you lose your job.

Then why in the heck would you even take a chance with any type of vacation that takes you away from home? If my job had those conditions and I knew my employer would enforce them, these isn't any way I would jeopardize my living just to get away.

I'm having a hard time with people going on a cruise but not having enough money for a hotel room in an emergency? I wouldn't be comfortable doing anything and cutting funds that close. Wow!

They should take care of their stranded passengers who are waiting. I know we would not have enough for a hotel for the night. So I guess we would sleep at the port.

If you cant afford one extra night in a hotel, you will be in for a shock when you get off in port of call or when you get your on board expense bill! It is not their fault and to have to allow people to cancel the cruise with a full refund is generous. Insurance is cheaper than a night in a hotel, and well worth it in a case like this or fog which is much more common. I feel bad for all those affected both on and off ALL the ships!

Navigator is on its way in and has informed guests they will be on board by midnight. I'd be glad with that. As long as they leave by daybreak, they won't miss any ports of call.

Then he shouldn't go on a cruise or even leave work..better to sleep at office just in case anything happens between work and home

If you:

Cannot afford insurance.

Cannot afford one night at a hotel.

Would lose your job in this situation.

You have no business being on a cruise. It would be simply irresponsible, and irresponsibility should not net anyone compensation.

Not everyone can afford another night in a hotel or not everyone can afford insurance. What about all the people still on the ship that now have missed getting home.

IMO if a person's budget is so tight they cannot afford trip insurance or a hotel room and they have no way to cover even the smallest "unexpected" situation, then I have to wonder why they spent money on a cruise?

And please don't tell me how everyone "deserves" a vacation because that's what's wrong today.......we all think we deserve a lot of things.......but it's whether or not we can afford to pay for it is the issue.

Still on magic. Not going anywhere at the moment. Looking like we might on for the night.

Vessel finder shows both Navigator and Magic heading to the dock. I suppose folks will beanie to get off tonight...maybe nobody will sail until tomorrow but at least some kids can be back in school tomorrow

With all due respect, if you are going on a cruise vacation its surprising that you would not have enough to cover a hotel room.

Of all the different types of vacations one can take, a cruise may be the one type that has the most possibilities for interruption or change. If you don't know that going in then you didn't do enough research on the vacation.

Plain and simple, this delay is not at all the fault of the cruise line. Anything they refund or provide to current and waiting passengers should be appreciated but not expected.

To all those who are posting you would lose your job, have no money for a hotel, or there are no hotels due to the oil spill, how is this Carnival's fault?

Never said it was their fault but as a courtesy they should take care of their loyal passengers.
