Anthem of the Seas Construction

Recommended Posts

There have been a couple of tweets naming 'We will rock you' as the show on the Anthem. Has anyone seen this anywhere else?

Totally can see this happening. It is a jukebox musical using the music of Queen, set in a futuristic world. It is a very fun show. Super popular in the West End, where this ship will spend the summers. That would be a great choice for Anthem!

Not disputing that it would be a great choice, sounds like a fun show! Just wanted to note that we don't know that Anthem will be spending any more than her first summer in the UK, and it in fact seems more and more likely that Anthem will remain in Bayonne year round now that Bermuda seems to be getting its act together with the dredging. So my only question is whether they would put a West End show, rather than a Broadway show that is more recognizable here in the States, on a ship that will quite possibly be in the states year round.

I was at a royal Caribbean TA presentation on Anthem today and they did confirm We Will Rock You will be the musical onboard. They will also have the after show party with the cast, same as what they are doing with Mamma Mia on Quantum

Do you think that this is where the two Anthem megablocks are joined? ;)

On the question on the mega blocks, I think you are correct. They are so precise . You recall in one of the prior photos with three guys standing between the two blocks in the building dock, one with surveyor type instrument, probably making sure everything fits properly.

Can someone please tell me if any of Royal's mega ships, including Anthem, have/will have full promenade decks?

We have done 5 RCI cruises, including on Liberty, Navigator, Grandeur and Brilliance, but I was put off the Oasis class by the apparent lack of a traditional prom deck, which we love to use every day - no better way to make you feel like you are on a ship :)

Would appreciate if someone could tell me for sure, especially for the Anthem, as I quite fancy some of her itineraries from S.ton, but don't want to go on her if there's no proper prom deck (difficult to tell from the photos I have seen so far).

Many thanks.

I am not sure that anyone here on CC can tell you "for sure". On the Quantum Keel Block thread, CC members have been discussing some of the few open spaces on Deck 5 and what they could be. So far is does not look like we will see anything like the Waterfront concept on NCL Breakaway Class ships. I would have been a great idea if they could add it in the design. At this stage of the construction I think Anthem's "Promenade" deck, (Deck 5) may very well look just like Quantum. For Quantum III, who knows what changes will take place.

All of these exterior photos are awesome. It would be awesome if Lloyd could get some good interior shots but I suspect that's probably forbidden.

Hopefully, Meyer Werft & RCI will be less strict with photographs after the latest reveal.

Meanwhile more exterior photos from Meyer Werft Fanclub.

The bow is attached.

GoGoing on ANTHEM of the Seas March 2016 western Caribbean. The pictures help me to put the puzzle of the ship together.

Hi

I am on that Western as well. Never done that itinerary before although I have been to Falmouth Jamaica before ( 40 years ago). 😀 Yes there is a roll call, come visit us.
