Yummy restaurants in Downtown cozumel

Looking for the best authentic restaurants in Downtown cozumel. any other fun things there to do. Its just me and my husband. thanks

You should try the waterfront restaurant "Jeanie's". Excellent and fresh authentic Mexican food. It is on the main street Avenida Rafael E Melgar which is the main avenue just outside the Downtown Cruise Terminal/shopping area. Turn left on Avenida Rafael E Melgar, walk about 5 to 10 minutes and Jeanie's is on the right (water) side. Jeanie's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at good prices with great drink specials. You will enjoy a nice meal/drinks with excellent service right on the water in a more relaxed/quiet atmosphere than the restaurants near the Downtown Cruise Terminal/shopping area.

I had an awesome lunch with drinks and enjoyed the beautiful view of the water. I will definitely be going back later this month.

I think its called el toro, with the large bull and horns, not much to look at but very good food.

Other great downtown restaurants are Casa Denis, just east of the downtown plaza, which is great to walk around in. La Mission which is on the corner of Rafael Melgar and Calle 5 Sur. Many cruisers enjoy Pancho's Backyard which has a branch at the Puerta Maya pier as well as downtown in the Cinco Soles store north of the ferry pier. And if you want more local flavor, and are walking around downtown check out El Mercado, the public market just a couple of blocks east of the plaza or one of the loncherias like Las Flamitas near by.

Can't go wrong with La Choza or Casa Denis. I also enjoy Pancho's Backyard.

It's about a 10 minute ride into town from the pier - EL MORRO!!

We only had a "liquid lunch". I've heard good things about it, but we only had drinks.

Definitely second LaChoza. Not too far from the plaza about 3 blocks fantastic real authentic Mexican food. You'll likely see crews from various ships there it is so popular. We ve eaten there numerous times and never failed to impress!
