What to do, what to do? We are booked on the Breeze on the last week of March. Have been watching the rates very carefully. It's dropped to the point where we have $650 in OBC. Right now, we have an inside cabin booked. We could upgrade to a balcony for $650 - hmmm. What would you do? :)

WOW! That's a tough call!

I am a balcony kinda girl myself.......lol

I guess it depends on what is more important to you.......Balcony or $$$$

I won't cruise without a balcony, but that's just me.

That kind of money can buy a LOT of drinks, or whatever on the ship.

Let us know what you decide.:D

That's why I'm on the fence here. I've been on 3 cruises in the past, but all with my wife. We have had a balcony before and of course loved it. This will be our first cruise with the kids (girls 10 yrs and 12 yrs). The OBC will cover our tips and a fair amount of drinks for mommy and daddy! Leaning to keeping the inside cabin.

Its a toss-up really.

With the OBC, you may feel pressured to spend it all, since I don't think it can be cashed out or rolled onto another cruise.

If you spend a lot of money onboard, I'd go for the money.

If you don't spend that much onboard, I'd go for the balcony. At least with the balcony you can enjoy the extra space throughout the entire cruise and can see the value.

With $650 OBC, I would feel like I have to spend money on extras and possibly overspend or not spend the whole amount. Sounds like a lot of keeping track.

Then again, I haven't been on a cruise yet, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you booked Early Saver keep the credit for now but also keep an eye on the prices. They will most likely still go down for each category and you will be able to go the upgrade very close to sailing. If you switch now I do not think you would be eligible for future price drops.

that's not true. you just have to match future price drops to the category you upgrade to. so instead of matching to a 4A interior, you match to a 8A balcony, etc.

Take the money. That's a whole cruise fare for me! I like insides after always having to have a balcony, then I tried OV, liked that too. Now I'll take an inside any day of the week if it means I can cruise more often.

And, yes, you can in fact cash it out at the casino. I did it last year and left with more money than I came with :p
