Cirque Dreams Not Included with UDP

My suggestion......for what it's worth?

Book it online. I know it'll charge you.

When you get to the ship bring your paid receipt for the show as well as a copy of when you booked your cruise and that the first evening was included at that booking with the UDP. Go to guest services and tell them there was some kind of glitch on their website and it charged you when it should not have. Tell them to remove those charges.

That's like buying insurance after the cruise LOL But I Could try that rookie! And its worth a lot! But you and I both know they will say take it up with the Miami office. And it's no glitch you read the emails from Vivian.

Would be nice if I could get the same treatment as everyone else....I'm freaking scared to go on this cruise NCL will not take responsibility for anything and they will lie and scam..Look at what they are putting me through for no reason. Imagine if theres a real problem.

The T&C for Freestyle Choice Spectacular is still posted on the website for promos. Maybe if you let them know you are contacting a lawyer, they will move a little faster at getting you a reservation.

I sent an email to AStuart@ncl.com and went on his twitter.

CGladding@ncl.com

And as many NCL people as I could find the emails for.

Lets give them a chance to rectify this. I really hope they do.

Jennifer,

Which month did you book? You could start a new thread asking if anyone has a screenshot or copy of the terms of the UDP. Many people take or print these just for this type of thing. You could also try to find someone who booked at the same time as you but were successful booking the show on the first night for free. If you booked at around the same time then your booking codes should be the same as well.

Up until the last couple of days it was stated on the website that the first nights show was included with the UDP. It is absolutely ridiculous that they are saying different today, especially when you have been told within the last 24 hours that the changes were not supposed to happen until July. I certainly have no recollection of any of the promos listing choices as;

  • OBC
  • Pre-paid Gratuities
  • UBP
  • UDP
  • and UDP -lite

For them to say there was such a thing as UDP- lite is such a smack in the face. They can see on your account that you are not some newbie and you have mentioned Cruise Critic. They could give you the courtesy of acknowledging that you have a clue to what is and is not included.

The steam would be coming out of my ears if I were in your situation. You have given them 2 days with this and have spent countless hours on the phone with them. At this point they owe you the show for free for your trouble alone.

Maybe others with some plausible suggestions on how to resolve this will chime in.

I have No idea what UDP lite is and thats not what I booked.

No email or phone call back yet!

If they don't remove the charges you could always send the proof to your CC company and have them stop the charge.

I just hate for your kids to miss out on something they'd more than likely enjoy.

Did you try contacting the ship itself via e-mail?

That was a made up term for what you have. UDP appears to be one thing for everyone else and a slimmed down version for you..hence the term UDP-lite. Maybe I should not be giving NCL any ideas.

I honestly don't know what else to do...If someone has another email with a better contact please let me know. I sent this and the link to the UDP again to Vivian.

BOOKING DATE: 1-Mar-2015

META

Here is the promo they will not honor:

Ultimate dining package:

Applicable to all guests ages 3 years of age or older.

Unlimited dining at specialty restaurants.

Dining Package excludes Chef’s Table, Ocean Blue, Carlo’s Bakery items, Ice Cream Bar, and Gelato.

A la carte priced restaurants are excluded (i.e. Sushi, Raw Bar, Noodle Bar and Ocean Blue Waterfront).

Entertainment based dining is excluded (Cirque shows, Second City Lunches, Nick Breakfasts, Wine Lovers, Illusionarium).

The A la carte venues and Ocean Blue are not included in the UDP, but will be discounted 20% for those who choose the package.

Entertainment based and Chef’s Table dining will not be discounted.

Additional main courses in Cagney's, Le Bistro, and Jefferson's Bistro will be charged at $10.00 per person.

Guests who chose the UDP can reserve the embarkation day performances at no additional cost.

Maybe I'm missing something here but if that's the offer you booked, it clearly states that it's excluded, not included in the UDP.

Yeah, you're missing something. Read the last sentence of what you quoted.

Ok, I knew there had to be something I was missing. I was going back and trying to look up all the old promos that I have in my email and trying to find something that helps. I usually save things too...just for occasions like this.

I did take the time to read this entire thread and my heart is bleeding for those that are unable to book this for free. We were able to do it on our cruise last year (under the free UDP on the first night) and it's such a wonderful show. This just makes me sick.

Someone help me understand WHERE this would be listed in the promos they send you. I have tons of emails advertising the promos, but it just states the options you can pick...not what they include. Where did the long listing come from with the "details"?

OH WAIT...I GET IT NOW!!! NCL IS RIGHT! Read the statement really good:

Guests who chose the UDP can reserve the embarkation day performances at no additional cost.

So these sneaky little suckers are saying you can "reserve" it for free, not actually get it for free...you know the reservation is a "convenience" to you, just not the show.  :o (Sorry, just had to add that because this is how things are happening with them these days)

I hope they get back to you tomorrow with something more positive. If someone who just booked today can get it for free then you should be to.

I do question the fact that are removing it at all. For people who booked during these recent promotions it clearly said that the first night the Dinner/show was free...and was exactly why I chose that option for March 2016. I am paid in full for that cruise and would hate to have found out in the early part of 2016 that was no longer the case. This is just one more instance where the lack of communication by NCL is appalling. If they offered something as part of the promotion and are changing the terms it is their obligation to notify the consumer. The fact that a $40 show could have been the main part of their selection process as it was mine. To take it away just reeks of dishonesty.

When it becomes standard that this inclusion on the first night is no longer possible I am sure we will see another thread here on CC go viral.

Rochelle

Same here, THEY BETTER HONOR IT !!

That is Outrageous. I sure hope whoever calls you tomorrow has some shred of sense. This perk is clearly stated as included in UDP, they use it as a selling point. Really sad to see NCL sinking so low:(

On NCL website under UDP, they had the text saying....

Starting with 4/1/14 sailing on BA, GA, and one other ship, you'll get the dinner show for FREE on Embark day.

Did NCL removed it since I cannot find the text?

Not sure I remember the exact wording you are quoting, but just this morning received their email about extending the 50% deposit through 4/6 with the Freestyle Choice Spectacular and the link to the Terms and Conditions takes you to the exact wording posted here that on embarkation day there is no charge. It also says nothing about sailing after 7/1. This is what is so infuriating about what the reps are telling her, they are clearly wrong.

I can't believe I'm reading more about NCL!! I am disgusted by them. I will be chasing folks away from using them. Maybe they need to be shaken up to get their attention!

Don't think they give a _____ about us at CC. We need something bigger.

Why won't NCL come on here and say something I posted on their FB, twitter sent an email.............. NOTHING!

except for a long call with NCL full of lies.

Is ripping me and two kids off for the price of a show that important to them that they won't even answer??

monkeybone,

Don't think it matter unless we take it to the next level national tv/paper.
