If people would complain while they were on board, so the issue could actually be observed while it was happening, it would make a HUGE difference.

It amuses me when people have issues on board, and then wait to complain about it until AFTER they return.

At that point, it appears it wasn't that much of an issue.

Oh my..... :rolleyes::p

Is there some reason they can't show a movie in the theater? Or maybe they can provide the chosen movie FREE on our cabin TVs? I was really disappointed when they nuked the movie theater on the M class ships, but at least we could choose a movie to watch in our cabin. In April, we found a huge list of pay movies, but no free ones at all. $12.95 for a movie. Ridiculous. Actually, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was available for $12.94. I'm not sure if that was a typo or some sort of "Sale", but wow - thanks, Celebrity. What a nice way to celebrate your 25th Anniversary with us.Actually, we did get a huge laugh out of that one cent price difference. Not only that they made another Hot Tub Time Machine movie, but that maybe the lower price may have been an indication that the quality of the production may not have met the standards that we'd expect after seeing the first one.

Considering that it's only a few select rooms there are probably few complaints which would probably be pacified with OBC.

We won't know that if people don't complain while it is actually happening.

If everyone thinks that someone else will complain, or if people think that waiting until they return and complaining on here or filling out a questionnaire will do any good, then of course nothing will change.

This is a business - they won't give out OBC on a regular basis - even if just to a "few select rooms" just to run a movie.

If people spent half the time/effort to complain on board while this is happening, instead on here AFTER the fact, half of this stuff would be resolved before it got this far.

Sheesh.

We were on Summit 5/17 to 24, aft cabin, deck 7 (friends on deck 8). We heard no noise from the movies in these cabins.

However, that being said, I do NOT understand the reasoning, other than bucks, of putting Aqua class cabins above the Sunset Bar. On our cruise lots of folks hung out there late into the night so I would imagine the noise from that might affect those directly above. We heard them laughing but that was with the door open. No problem for us, we just closed things up and it was quiet but don't know how the people above them felt. The locations for these cabins was absolutely ridiculous. All aft.

That was a great cruise wasn't it!?

A bit cool the last day but the weather was almost perfect and the sea darn smooth...

Have 130 days booked on "X" and looking forward to every one of them

Well, that was the reason for my initial inquiry about 1133 in various boards and our roll call. I don't mind the noise as much as the smoke from the bar. As to the movies, generally my wife and I are up past midnight anyway, so maybe the movies won't be as bad for us as made out, especially if they are only on port nights. I certainly won't let anything affect my love of watching the wake enough to change my cabin, especially at such a late date. Rest assured, however, that while I wouldn't seek OBC, I shall definitely say something to the hotel services desk about the movies if they're as loud as they're suspected to be. Previous posters are absolutely correct: the only way service providers ever know that their service is unacceptable is by telling them. They're not mind-readers and will assume that your silence is approval.

Smoking is only on the port side but on our cruise there were "young adults" who worked their way to the middle areas of the bar and were smoking there. I watched as some older folks had to move away, coughing. I have sailed Celebrity since 1992 and have never seen so many of the staff ignore most of the rules that are listed as being "prohibited". They were not waiters, but were "suits" and even some officers who tend to hang around after hours.

I'm still nervous about cabin on 9-- so we should compare notes! Hopefully we will both be fine with our cabin choices on the Summit.

We will do that.

If there is a noise problem late at night, I will be on the phone complaining and I'll march right down to guest services first thing in the morning. I won't wait until after the fact. :D

Three more weeks, Jetswdo. :) ;)

I noticed that the "smoking areas" seemed to get bigger towards the end of the cruise. We simply avoided those areas, but we did notice that the smoking areas were being extended, and folks were walking with cigarettes in hand into the non-smoking areas. (At one point I had to think about what side of the ship I was on, when i realized folks were smoking. It was the non-smoking side.)

I did say something to someone at one point, but since I was only passing through the area, I don't know what effect it had.

This was the best (read least smokey cruise) time I have had on a cruise as a non-smoker. It was great that there was no smoking allowed indoors - and I actually was able to spend time in the casino. I was never able to do that on other lines.

Hi,

What times are the shows in the evenings?

Sounds like you had a nice time and I appreciate all your tips and information about the Summit.

Thanks

The regular shows are at 7 and 9 PM each night. On the last night, there is a late night adults only comedy show - at 11 PM.

Just back from the 5/24 sailing. We had a lovely time despite the unfortunate weather in Bermuda. We never left the ship on the second port day, but had plenty to do and nice people to chat with. My traveling companions and I were convinced there were really only 100 people on the ship because we saw the same guests at everything we attended! Justin, the activities host, is a real gem and it will be a great loss when he leaves at the end of June. Future Millenium passengers, you are VERY lucky!! Our waiters, the folks at guest relations, the photography staff, and everyone else we encountered were so helpful. Even Mark, the activities manager, broke character enough from his "mean British game show presenter" persona just enough to reveal he's a nice guy. We had lots of fun and laughter.

Two of my traveling companions, Princess 1 and Princess 2, got a big kick out of it when "Stan the Pan Man" recognized them from our Reflection cruise in January. They do stand out.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can anyone tell me what deck you went to when you left the ship in Bermuda? We have a room near the mid ship elevator on deck 2 and I am concerned about noise from the card reader ( dings/chimes) during the night as people come and go. Did you leave the ship from deck 1 or 2?

You leave the ship on Deck 1, mid-ship. You've asked this question on 3 threads and keep getting the same response. Deck 1, and no, you won't hear any dings/chimes in your stateroom.

Thanks, Wine-O, for your quick response. I am thinking we are far enough from that area that we won't be bother with noise. Haven't noticed anyone complaining about this issue, so I guess we are in the clear. Thanks again.

Just upgraded to an AQ guarantee from our OV For only $20.00 pp on our upcoming Summit cruise in July. So noise from the card reader is no longer an issue for me, Winie-o.

What's your new stateroom cabin? Maybe there are other issues.

It's a guarantee and we have not received our room number yet. Looking forward to Blu. Have really enjoyed Blu in the past. If I have an issue with our new room, I will be sure to check with you, Wine-O.

Haven't heard about the moose since our 5/17 cruise!

Be careful of the aqua cabins. There are a few aft right over the Sunset Bar and when we booked for next year for Bermuda they were offering the same exact deal for aqua as for the aft cabins.

Those aft cabins above the Sunset Bar are A1, Aqua cabins.
