The All New All Things Dream Thread Got Questions?

I was on the Dream in August and did not see sushi anywhere. I certainly could have missed it and did not ask. I will be on the Dream again in October. Does anyone know if the Dream still has sushi?

I think what was the sushi bar on the ships has now been replaced with the Taste Bar. While I love trying the stuff at the Taste Bar, miss having later afternoon sushi before dinner :(

RaiderFanin NM made a wish that a new thread devoted to Dream questions, answers and tips be started as the old thread was sadly outdated.

So here it is!

A wish has been granted.

Magic hunh?

I have a cruise booked soon and I have been searching for information on Dream.

Somehow reviews on Dream that I have read have been really good or really bad.

There seems to be no middle ground.

The food is horrible or it is amazing.

The ship is lovely or it is a filthy wreck.

The crew is wonderful or hateful.

Yeah right.

I have a question about deck chairs in the shade and have been unable to find the answer.

On Glory, Conquest, and Triumph there were deck chairs on the deck where you embark.

Does Dream have this?

If not, where is a good place to look for deck chairs in the shade with a view?

Anything not to be missed or totally to be avoided?

Secret doors?

Anything odd or interesting?

Tell all, please do!

The Dream was one of my favorite ships. I could never understand why a lot of people don't seem to like it.

I was on the dream 9/13/2015 sailing:

I saw sushi two places

One was on the main menu in MDR

and on the venue past the casino leading to the dining room that is in the back of the ship (cant remember the name cause we were in the Anytime dining room in the front)

But it was past the coffee place and before the art gallery on the same deck as the casino.

Hope that helps

Awesome! We are sailing to Key West, Freeport and Nassau, and I think they are all on EST. So that helps alot with me booking my excursions :)

You may spread have an answer, but ship time almost always changes to the local time. Pretty sure that they changed in Nassau on this Journeys cruise. I haven't read to the end yet, so if this info has already been passed along, sorry for the duplication.

Ship time almost never changes to the local time, in my experience, and that seems to be most common with Carnival. For your Journeys cruise, it would change times, because the end of the cruise is in a different time zone than the start. Those will change times. But not for stand-alone, round-trip sailings, except when you sail over daylight savings time, because the home port changed times as well. There are some very few exceptions to this, but it is extremely rare.

No hamburgers?

I last sailed Dream in Jan 2014, but there were burgers on the lanai BBQ then. Breeze is not allowed to serve burgers (or the quesadillas) on their lanai BBQ, because only Guys burgers is allowed to serve burgers (and only the Blue Iguana cantina is allowed to serve Mexican food). Only exception there is the dining room. But because Dream doesn't have those branded places, they are allowed to serve those on the BBQ, plus the regular burgers up on lido deck have much better & longer hours than on the ships that have Guys.

No burgers! We were on the Sept 27th sailing of the Dream and there were no hamburgers at the Lanai BBQ. The food that they did serve was OK. Nothing to write home about.

I'm confused. The Carnival website says the Oceanside BBQ serves sliders with asian slaw, and a topless burger. And those certainly look like sliders in this picture from the Carnival website...

Sorry, my friend! I was expecting hamburgers as well, but there were none to be seen. They offered BBQ pork sliders that had slaw on them, but no burgers. Maybe they were out of burgers on our cruise?
