RaiderFaninNM Posted August 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Just curious on how much your average S&S bill at the end of any given cruise was? I was thinking about this as when I was closing out my account on The Allure of the Seas a few years back, the lady in front of me was going crazy about her account final statement, it was $5300! I felt for the lady helping her as she was under pressure from the start, she printed out her tab and when I was finished with my account, it was still printing, 10+ pages! Normally I would not even care but she was so loud in her protests that they finally took her to an office in attempt keep things down as everyone was aware of her issue. Our last cruise tab was around 1K if I remember right, that was for several shore excursions etc.....
okgirl Posted August 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2015 About 1200 to 1500 but that includes the Cheers program which is almost $900 for my sister and I.
Bases5 Posted August 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2015 My last one was $288 for 5 days and that was for 2 of us
love my grandkids Posted August 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Usually about $ 3-400 for the two of us. Typically consists of tips, internet, something from shops, some specialty coffees and a few drinks. Excursions are typically done privately. Wheels87 Posted August 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We got off a 5-day on the Elation a week and a half ago which was $1400 for five of us. We literally just got off the Dream and it was just over $2,000 for six!
brookemarieplusone Posted August 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I have only been on two cruises.. One with my little sister, a four day, our tab was only $300 or so. And my last one as a solo was $1000 for an eight day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Minkster1973 Posted August 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I've only been on one Carnival cruise. It was in January of 2013 and it was a gift from a couple of dear friends, which included the cruise and a plane ticket to Ft. Lauderdale. During my cruise, I visited the casino regularly and always dropped my winnings back onto my S&S card. When I left the ship for different ports, I would get cash for food, drinks, souvenirs, and whatnot, and anything left over was immediately put back on to my S&S card. I didn't purchase the Cheers Program, but I pretty much maintained a good, relaxed buzz all week and ended up having the time of my life. I had no idea the kind of money I was spending that week. I didn't keep track one time. I just kept doing the same thing every day. You know how you always say, "Yea, I'm not drinking the last night of the cruise so I can be alert and get through the day traveling home tomorrow"? Yea, I said the same thing, but I ended up drinking with new friends and having a great night. When I woke up the morning of debarkation, I was a tad bit nervous that I had got out of control that last night, and when the bill was slid under my door, I was almost nauseous thinking of how bad it could be. When I opened my statement, this is what I saw: Needless to say, I don't expect to have that kind of luck again. My next cruise is in February, and of course I will try to repeat history, but it is unlikely, for sure.
Kamloops50 Posted August 9, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We came back from one cruise with credit balance . Princess sent me a cheque for that amount in the mail.
s.schultz Posted August 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2015 It pretty much all depends on how big of a drinker you are. I've been on cruises where our bill was around 400 for three people and also over 1000 for the same three people. The cheers program will count for a large amount of your bill but you are a big drinker than it will save you a lot of money in the long run!! TeacherLovesToTravel Posted August 9, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 9, 2015 For two of us, typically between $500 and $600, including excursions (or a spa treatment). Lately, we've been pre-booking our excursions, so our onboard account balance has been lower. We carry on a 12-pack of canned soda and two bottles of wine. We're not big drinkers. WindsorFred Posted August 9, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2015 For the 2 of us it usually runs from $600-$1200 depending on the length of the cruise Seldom do we book excursions on board but we do drink and visit the casino a few times. Also a few photo's and purchases from the Fun Shops including a bottle or 2 from room service. Jenhem31 Posted August 9, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2015 The most we've spent was $750 on Allure. We aren't huge drinkers and that included a massage. We usually do whatever we want, buy a few photos, souvenirs, casino, etc. Last cruise on Breeze was around $600 but that included our gratuities because I forgot to pre pay them. We pre pay our excursions. Our average is probably $400-$
Bunkie103 Posted August 9, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 9, 2015 It depends on a lot of things. In the past I pre-paid gratuities but then decided why give Carnival my $$ any sooner than necessary, so gratuities are always on my bill. I do now pre-book any excursions we take with Carnival so that leaves our bar bill which isn't much since DH is not a big drinker and maybe a few things I buy on board. Oh we usually add some additional gratuities for the Dining Room Staff because we do YTD and this seems the easiest way to make sure everyone gets something extra. We usually come in about $500-600 for a 7-8 day cruise.
Heartkrazy Posted August 9, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 9, 2015 For our 7 day Mexican Riviera this past April on the Miracle, we had an $1,100 charge that included Cheers for 2, tips & ecursions. We paid that off with cash on Thursday & shopped in the jewelry store on Friday. Overall our total for around $2,300......but I got a beautiful ring to show for it, lol!! silvercrikhix Posted August 9, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 9, 2015 This is a question with so many variables! Depending on what you spend money on really affects the bottom line! Big drinker? Big Gambler? Spa Lover? Bingo Nut? Shopper? Book many Carnival excursions? Collect novelty drink cups? Number of cruisers? Etc.... Our final bill has been between $450-1,500. This is for 2 people 7-10 day cruises. YMMV for sure.
ladygal4.4 Posted August 9, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) $1.78. And yes that is no joke. But I am an extremely careful spender on cruises. The cruise is my splurge Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited August 9, 2015 by ladygal4.
Rare skittl1321 Posted August 9, 2015 #17 Share Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) This poll starts way too high. My S&S bills have all been under $10. (Yes, ten.) I've never had any OBC. I just don't buy anything on the ship except a few chocolate covered strawberries. The only time husband's card has been more than gratuities was when we did Chef's table. But even with grats + Chef's table the $500 mark is WAY too high. Edited August 9, 2015 by skittl1321
KatieCharlotte Posted August 9, 2015 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2015 On my last two cruises, I received a small check in the mail, I assume for reduced port fees. Our highest S&S ever was under $10, but we once spent $20 in OBC. :D However, we prepay tips and have given envelopes with cash for specific crewmembers. Our excursions are generally not through the cruiseline or are prepaid, and cheap massages are available on the beach and more relaxing than the spa. On one cruise, our prepaid excursion was about $400 for five people. If we decided to splurge, we would probably get one photograph, a few cocktails for me, and a few Cokes for DH, still way under $100. I don't think we're capable of spending $500, if you don't count prepaid tips.
sandij Posted August 9, 2015 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We always pre pay our excursions and use OBC for tips so this year it was 84.00 and last years was 63.00 and I have even gotten a credit check in the past.
DebJ14 Posted August 9, 2015 #20 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Less than $500 usually, unless DH buys me some jewelry. We prepay gratuities and shore excursions so the only thing on there are meals at the Steakhouse, wine and a few drinks.

flyawayca Posted August 9, 2015 #22 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We have always been under $500 for the two of us. I think our highest was around $450 and lowest around $100. The high one was only because I bought a watch. We usually prebook excursions. A few alcoholic drinks and/or soda, and a gift or two and that's the most of our onboard spending. MiffyLynx Posted August 10, 2015 #23 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Usually about $500 - $750 per person. The CHEERS program is a big must, and money saver!
