LIVE from OASIS (Sept. 5, 2015) - Pics, Periscope & Prospectus

Recommended Posts

Omgosh, you have me crying here. I don't think I could cruise with you, my cheeks and sides would hurt way too much from laughing. Definitely the black one for formal night (just make sure you don't wear jeans in the MDR). Have fun - we're on her in three weeks! :)

Subscribed and waiting for more. Hilarious!!!

I did a Periscope review on Oasis in July. I enjoyed doing it.

Here's answers to some of the questions here:

You can go to Periscope.com if you want to use it on PC but it's made for IOS or Android so better (more functionality) to download the FREE App...

It's true, the Scopes are only available for 24 hours as replays on Periscope unless the Broadcaster (that's NYVillian in this case) saves them to his phone camera and then uploads them to YouTube. Then they can remain on YouTube Forever.

Be mindful that Periscope uses a lot of data and a lot of battery to view as well as to Broadcast

Be sure to select Notifications when you follow NYVillian in Periscope and also set the Notifications in your phone settings to "On" so you can get notified on your device when he is Scoping.

If I missed any just let me know. Happy to share..

Oh yeah if you like what you see tap the bottom part of the screen and Hearts will start flowing.

Maureen's avatar cat could have smoked that 8' cobra hiding in your rental car. Sounds like you two might have to travel together. Not to mention the cruise reviews will have me laughing so hard I'd feel constricted. ;)

Oh yes, the Brady news was everywhere. And yes let's cruise together! Get JohnGaltny and SailorJack too and we'll all do reviews.

Oh no, not my spoiled Nutmeg! I'll see a bug in the house and I'll yell, Get it, and she just stares at me like I'm deranged. The one thing she does go after is crickets and I run to rescue them and throw them outside. :D

Yes, let's have a review-off and RC can give the winner a free cruise! :D

I nominate myself as lead reviewer, and will award the first place cruise prize. As part of my review I will be awarded first class travel and cruise fair to my destination of choice. :D Let the competition begin. It will be a tough competition to judge, but I shall sacrifice my health, family time and non-cruise vacation time. As King Julien says "Let you entertain me". :)

Edit: Maureen let me introduce your Nutmeg to our outside cat named Lucy and you'll have a cat looking at the birds saying to itself..."I like them thick and chunky". She was missing for 3 weeks came back just as good as when she disappeared. Our neighbourhood birds are more afraid of her than ever.

Thanks Ms. Lillie. I watched a bunch of your periscope videos. You did an amazing job! I hope I can do the same.

We had a nice lunch at Capt'n Butcher's even though it started to pour halfway through our meal.

We then drove in a downpour but eventually made it to the Wyndham Boca Raton in one piece. We have a little change of plan for tonight as we are now going out in Delray Beach. Tomorrow is cruise day!

Food porn from lunch today to follow.

Yorkvillain, you are a bad man. I just signed up for Periscope and I never use social media. I'm loving the food porn!

LOL - I don't do social media either, but I like periscope enough that I even scoped something and am thinking about scoping the 2 day Allure. I like that it's only viewable for 24 hours.

Oh, Nutmeg wouldn't know what to do with a bird, you see in her picture, she's so spoiled that I have laid down a towel for her to rest on, so, her flesh doesn't have to touch the hardwood floor.

I'm very behind the times electronically, just got my first smart phone a few months ago, am I now going to have to figure out this whole Periscope thing? Darn you, Villain! :D:D

Tentative schedule:

Wednesday, 9/2 (herein known as "Day Minus 3" or "Day -3") The last day of work, pack, try to get to store before midnight because I forgot to buy dental floss, athletes foot cream and about 12-15 other items

Thursday, 9/3 (Day -2. Hey, I stay on ship's time) Fly to Orlando, grab rent-a-car, drive to Mom's house in Sebastian, FL. Have gigantic dinner in Sebastian and stay over night at Mom's house.

Friday, 9/4 (Day -1) Hopefully devour a King Kong-sized breakfast that Mom whips up (**clears throat**, Mom you reading this? hint, hint), drive to Boca, check-in at Wyndham Boca Raton for one night so Courtney can go out with her best friend who lives in Boca while I grab 500 one-dollar bills and go to a Gentlemen's Club. I mean wait, what?!?! No that's not it. I mean, while I go to Primanti Brothers for a big 'ol sandwich and then to the casino to play poker.

Saturday, 9/5 (Day 1) Throw a dump truck sized bucket of ice water on Courtney in an attempt to wake her up and remind her that today is CRUISE DAY! Drive to Avis at Hyatt Pier 66, drop off car, take Avis shuttle to Port Everglades to board the ship and then sprint as fast as I can while hurdling every child and knocking over every Senior Citizen so that I can get to the Park Cafe and destroy my first two beef on wecks of the week.

Sunday, 9/6 (Day 2 - Nassau) Junkanoo Beach OR we get lazy and stay on the ship. If you are a gambler, bet on option B.

Monday, 9/7 (Day 3 - Sea Day) Complain at Guest Services that my on-board credit has not shown up on my account yet; Comedy Club at 10:30pm

Tuesday, 9/8 (Day 4 - St. Thomas) Snorkeling and delicious Bushwackers at Coki Beach

Wednesday, 9/9 (Day 5 - St. Maarten) Holland House, dodge and deny every vendor that even looks at me

Thursday, 9/10 (Day 6 - Sea Day) Complain about how fat I’ve become on this trip and pledge to only eat steamed brussels sprouts until Thanksgiving

Friday, 9/11 (Day 7 - Sea Day) Drink 47 gallons of water, jam an IV in my arm to recoup from the past week’s damage

Saturday, 9/12 (Turn out the lights, the party's over)

Love the itinerary...so much more realistic than the one the cruise puts out!:D:D

I never used Periscope until Yorkvillian's review. It is easy to figure out once you get it loaded onto your phone, or device. Give it a shot, as I have a great feeling it will be worth it.

Cuddle up with Nutmeg and tell her the legendary story about Lucy. It should be enough to inspire your feline of cautionary nature to let out her dangerous side. Watch out crickets, Nutmeg might grind you up. That is if she chooses too... typical cat.;)

We are debating whether to buy our drink packages now or wait until we get on board. If you have a chance could you post whether or not you notice any specials? Like first day on board specials or something like that. Hope you have a great cruise!

Yorkvillian, I caught your weather report this morning. I am glad to know my weather forecast here is not the same as Delray. It would be a mess to clean up all those men.

As for the dancers, those ladies sure looked like they were having fun. Perhaps a bit too much fun for 9pm. I wonder what they were doing at midnight.

Watch out roast beef sandwiches, the Yorkvillain is coming to get you.:p

The scary thing is two of those dancers were waitresses at the restaurant we were at last night (Rockys Italian Bistro in Delray Beach).

Courtney is lucky. She just woke up. 10 more minutes and I would have made her take the ice bucket challenge.

So it's time to leave Boca, fill the tank up in the rent-a-car, drop the car off and take the Avis shuttle to the ship.

Hopefully we are onboard around 12:30. My next post will be on the ship!

Oh and I plan on doing a little periscoping right after lunch. After that I plan on doing a big cannonball into the solarium pool.

So I guess my next post was not from the ship but right now. :(

Followed quickly by a stop at the Solarium Bar? Coronas for all!
