Short Bahama Cruise Formal Question

My spouse has recently suffered a foot injury and must wear a specially made and fitted bracing in his shoe temporarily. Since it is temporary, in the upset of the moment, we only thought to have his gray tennis shoes fitted with the special brace. Even were there time before our flight in the morning, I don't really see spending another small fortune to get his dress shoes fitted. We leave on a 3 night Bahama's cruise on the Majesty of the Seas on the 6th. I think given the situation it will be fine if I wear a short cocktail dress and my spouse wears his gray tennis shoes with black jeans and a gray dress shirt. He has a black and gray tie to wear as well. Thoughts?

I would dress like you and him would for any formal night. Even if he wore a suit, I would just have him wear the brace and gray tennis shoes. HIs foot is what is most important. The rest of him can be dressed up but not his feet, he will look fine.

He'll be fine, don't stress about it. I just found out I'll have to wear an orthopedic walking boot on next week's cruise. I'm blinging mine out (but wouldn't suggest that for your DH).

Shorter cruises, especially Caribbean, are more casual than most. I think he will be fine with non formal footwear. I personally would tell him to ditch the tie and pack a sport coat/jacket. In my mind a guy wearing tie without jacket conjures up images of an $9 hour teenage worker working at JC Penney rather than a well dressed gentleman. I would classify a jacket, dress shirt without tie a much classier option.
