Is Caribbean Princess going to be late into Houston this morning?

I am incredibly impressed that passengers got their luggage back.....think what the crew had to do to pull that one off! No cabin # on bags!

 

I agree. WOW. I wonder if they will encourage people to carry off their luggage tomorrow morning. Otherwise, the stewards will be picking up the luggage in about 6 hours.

My understanding is that we are supposed to get what we need out of the luggage and then put it back out as soon as we can. To my knowledge, this hasn't been stated publicly, but I also think it's common courtesy. They've done their part, now we just need to do ours.

The crew must be exhausted... Bless their hearts (and the passengers, too).

From a passengers perspective...

 

I'd like to add that they've handled this situation about as well as could be hoped for. Kudos to Princess. It will be interesting to see how the embarking passengers feel about however princess accommodate them. They are the victims in this situation much more than we are and even more than the crew.

I know it can't happen but it would have been nice to know in advance and not have to go through all the bag stuff. eh :)

I'm on board the CB right now. The captain has announced that if possible we will be in by 7am. Even if we get in before that they have plans to just let us off at 7am. But it all depends on the Fog, he also said it could be later. They have delivered luggage back to the people, they are treating us like a normal cruise night.

That is interesting. I hope Princess does something nice for everyone who is impacted... (and yes, I am aware that fog is out of the purview of their control, but still...)

we were supposed to board Caribbean Princess today. We arrived to the terminal at 10.30 a.m. There were NO representatives from the cruise company,no information, no food or drinks. People were sitting in the cold cars for many hours.There were 2 portable toilets and long -long lines.Why we were treated like animals. Why Princess reps could not come and inform people? We left the terminal at 16.00 to go to eat and other passengers informed us that there would be no ship. Their travel agent told them. It is not the way to treat customers. Shame and disgrace.You Princess ruined our cruise. We were lucky to get a hotel room together with other unhappy passengers and heard all kinds of comments from them.

Wow, that is crazy that there were no embarkation staff answering questions and assisting guests. On Carnival a few years ago all the embarkation staff were standing outside the terminal answering questions and concerns. Sounds like bad communication from Princess. I hope you get a good rest and tomorrow will be better.

Interesting how incredibly different that experience was from those of us on board.

 

So sorry that it wasn't handled well on your side. All I can say is, once the ship does arrive, you have a top-notch captain and crew to take care of you.

This does sound very frustrating. It is not a great way to start your vacation. I have my fingers crossed that you will get to board tomorrow.:)

This is awful. I agree, very poorly handled by Princess.

Wow, that's really bad and I'm sure very frustrating. We will be trying Princess for the first time and are going out of Houston over New Years. We are Celebrity loyalists, we've never had one problem with them, but the price was right and the ports we wanted to see, so we are giving them a try. Hopefully things look up for you in the morning.

Just talked to daughter and it seems they are underway go -- somewhere... Perhaps a window of time to get into the port? Perhaps they will get off at 7 am tomorrow. YAY! My 7 year old grandson is so sad he didn't get his parents back today. He will be ecstatic in the morning.

She is turning south. Most likely getting further out to open the casino and shops.

It looks like she is headed further out, maybe so they can open the casino and the shops.
