Tips on getting the most out of my non alcoholic drinks package please

Recommended Posts

I've got the full non alcoholic package. Is the fridge on Royal Caribbean empty on arrival or will I need to get the steward to empty it to make space.

Are there any cans at all I can get on my package? Also the water, is that large or small bottles?

Where would I go on Anthem to get my included in the package coffee?

The fridge will be mostly full of items to purchase, none of which are included in any package.

No cans available in any package.

On Celebrity I get them to empty the fridge so I can fill it with the package drinks but it sounds like the only thing I will be putting in the fridge in water!

You can your stateroom attendant to empty the fridge, but don't be surprised if they say it's not allowed.

We had our fridge emptied once and somehow they charged us for the entire contents of the fridge on the last morning of the cruise. Somehow they " forgot" they emptied it. :/ line at the pursers desk was too long to justify the $45 during disembarkation. That was the first and last time we had it emptied.

I love this package and always get it. To get the most out of it my day usually goes something like this

Fresh OJ and a latte with breakfast

Caramel macchiato or another latte in the morning at whatever activity I go to

Grab bottle of water at some point in the morning

Diet coke and sparkling water at lunch

2 or 3 virgin cocktails around the pool in the afternoon - I love the frozen mojito, daiquiri or piña colada

More bottled water

Dinner time I bring wine onboard but also have 2 or 3 sparkling waters with dinner

After dinner more virgin frozen mojito, diet coke or sparkling water - depends what I'm doing. If casino, diet coke is the easiest to get.

Grab one or two more bottled waters to take back to the cabin overnight

It's very easy to get your money's worth with this package!

You really have to like their virgin cocktails to make this package worthwhile. I always get it for my lady but I don't think we come out ahead at all due to her not liking most of those drinks (too sweet). :)

On the Radiance they wouldn't operate the OJ machine after breakfast, so it was essentially coffee and water that was left.

P.S. On a side note, I noticed you've gone from the Oasis to the Voyager to the Radiance. How did you rate each change? I've gone from the Voyager to the Radiance and wasn't too thrilled with the downsizing...

I liked all of them for different reasons. Oasis was great because there were a lot of options. Hubby especially likes to be active (I'm happy to lie by the pool and read) so perfect ship for him. We had a package for specialty Restaurants and were amazed by how good they were.

We both enjoyed Voyager also, our first trip on her was 14 nights and I never felt there wasn't anything to do. The layout of the windjammer is better. Fewer specialty restaurants but we had great table mates and ate in MDR all but 2 nights. On both these ships we liked the royal promenade area too.

I think Radiance is a beautiful ship. I love sitting in the champagne bar or schooner bar with the ocean views. Colony club is also an amazing space, and the outdoor area at the back of the windjammer is wonderful. We did both notice the smallness of this ship though. We were with an extended family group so it wasn't that much of an issue.

Overall I think they all have different pluses and minuses but I haven't been unhappy with any of them. We're going on Voyager again in a few weeks and are booked on Harmony later in the year. I definitely would book Radiance again if the price and itinerary were right!

Is it possible to request fridge emptying (and having the beds put together, while I'm at it) by my stateroom ahead of time? Would I just call the 1-800 number for RCCL and ask for it, and they'd make a note on my reservation? I've tried to see an option for requesting it online and can't find one. And I'd rather not wait until the day of and make more work for an already busy attendant if I don't have to.

You can try calling, but I suspect they will say it cannot be done.

Even for the bed formation? That seems like a TON of extra work for cabin attendants to have all the beds separate, then the day of embarkation have to change who knows how many based on people requesting it last minute. Oh well, not too big of a deal (for me, anyways). :)

Don't waste your time. Even 20 seconds. Even if they SAY that they will note it on your reservation, it won't happen.

(This is for the fridge-emptying. Beds together is their default mode)
