shareholders OBC not allowed

So it's basically worthless, which is why I sold it and didn't buy back.

CCL is a bit more generous in allowing you to combine the shareholder benefit with most fares, although I have recently been denied when I tried to get it for a casino rate cabin.

Bob - I booked a 30/30 last week for a non balcony cabin and no other discounts and was allowed to use the benefit. Just received the confirmation today.

Marci

I was pretty sure that I saw that in the 30% rules, but they seem to have disappeared off the website in favor of the WOW sale ad.

Well. maybe the rules have changed, but they denied me when I had last year's 30/30 prices. Of course, they never give a detailed reason, so it could have been that my proxy certificate was crooked on the scan.

Our last cruise on Liberty we booked BOGO (Inside Promenade Stateroom) and we received our Shareholder credit.

I also just got it for our Anthem cruise coming up in 13 days. I have a small RCCL OBC of $75 so they awarded me $125 from the shareholder benefit to make it a total of $200 which is what the shareholder credit is for a 12 night cruise.

Shareholder benefit is not-combinable with any other Royal OBC except for Visa points OBC, so what they probably did was remove the $75 credit and add the $200 shareholder credit. They gave you the best of the two OBCs.

That's not how their e-mail to me is worded.

We see you have an Onboard Credit offer on your current booking XXXXX that is [lower] than your Shareholder Benefit of [$200.00]. We applied the difference of $125.00 of the two Onboard credit. We hope that you enjoy the spectacular array of onboard services and amenities.

In any event, it's $200 total OBC no matter how it's posted.

Yes, Applied same time, 2 cruises, 1 for each promo. 30/30 was denied. The other BOGHO we received

Well, that's consistent with my experience last year, but Marci got the OBC for her 30/30 booking. So confusing.

Assuming the same base price, BOGOHO is a 25% for two guests and 30/30 is a 30% discount for two guests.

30/30 is the best sale ever...especially when they didn't raise the prices before the sale (like on the Harmony of the Seas) when they launched the sale last year :D

  • 4 weeks later...
As a solo cruiser I am seeing rate quotes on the RCI site posted as "Crown and Anchor Rates", am I correct in assuming that this designation would preclude getting any shareholder OBC with these rates?

Correct.

:):)A basic rule of thumb to follow is you get one discount per cruise, no stacking of credits or discounts or whatever you want to call them.

If you want to stack credit's go on Princess. Stockholder, military, senior, passenger referral, and anything else that may be available .
