erinmarie424 your correct good valid points, as for me having the drink package I be drinking even more, there won't be anything for us to do while on the ship everything is closed but its ok, we don't mind sitting relaxing and sipping cocktails and people watching the ones coming back to the ship.

I would take excursion to Playa Del Carmen but don't see any excursions....and I would definitely go to Cancun but there aren't any either.

Anybody have ideas whether they know of a cooking excursion or a nice restaurant to eat lunch or early dinner at?

Just confirming what port does the Magic dock at in Cozumel, the new one with the shops right there?

I see a VIP Bar Crawl to Playa Del Carmen in my excursion options....? Does that interest you?!? :)

"Just confirming what port does the Magic dock at in Cozumel, the new one with the shops right there?" Would like to know this as well. Thanks!!

Carnival docks at Puerta Maya. Not actually that new. Rebuilt in 2008 after hurricane damage and added a 3rd spot last year. You can go to their website and see who'll be docked alongside you.

You definitely lost me on this being a cost cutting change. My upcoming Cozumel stop on the Triumph went from 8-5 to 7-5. So we will not be staying later. And aren't casinos and shops huge profit makers for the cruise line? How is this cost cutting? Maybe I'm missing something.

I guess it's different for less experienced cruisers. I've cruised to Cozumel 5 times in the past 18 months. While I love a beach day, I also love the ship. I'm not at all interested in extended hours in Cozumel. And how many times do you want to see the ruins?

No more ruins for me. Now as for Mr Sanchos, will be there for the 5th time later this week. [emoji2][emoji482]

ajtaylor29- no that doesn't interest us, we have the drink package on the ship lol but thanks for looking what there is available up for us.

Windawn lol I can relate totally to what you said! 62 cruises so far so many times Cozumel, now I love the mexican cuisine excursion but Carnival took that away many years ago.

Does anybody know of a good restaurant to eat at, maybe I can do that?

There aren't any excursions listed for our Feb 18 2017 cruise yet, but I went to the Explore Exursions tab and looked up Cozumel excursions. There were 4-5 that had a "Cozumel Plus" sticker on them. Was kind of interested in the Swimming With Whale Sharks excursion - til I saw the price. $210 per person  Maybe some other time....

I'm curious about the same thing. It looks like people have been finding the asterisk and "overnight aboard ship" in their Cruise Managers for a few weeks now. Now we know, it must have something to do with Cozumel Plus but the itinerary still reflects day visiting hours.

My Triumph booking shows "overnight aboard ship" for Cozumel, but my 2017 Vista booking does not.

As a crew member (and now as passengers) we too have "been there don't that Cozumel) but whenever in port we always go to a restaurant called Abuelo Gerardo. It is in town (taxi drivers know it), 2 blocks behind the main square on 10ave I think (if you are facing the main square, the left street (where the 7-11 is) walk back, the next street is 10 (there is a little church on the corner) and the restaurant is across the street to you left.

They have a menu, but the best food is the fresh catch (not listed). They have a cooler sitting out with whatever the fishermen brought that day, ask to see the days fish and you can choose which one you want (served whole with veggies and rice). They will grill it or fry or in foil with onion/tomato. The Octopus is AMAZING (I had them teach me how to make it ) sooooo delicious! Literally the best grilled octopus I have ever eaten! Sit on the back garden, they have a pretty shaded palapa and if you look (and earlier in the afternoon) they have some gopher tortoises who walk around and beg for food. Super cheap, not touristy and amazing food!

I was really hoping that this meant they were bringing back the 8am-10pm port times in Cozumel like they used to have. I had one of those booked back in 2004, on my 2nd cruise. Calica was the 2nd port, and since that was barely an hour or 2 away from Cozumel, we stayed in Cozumel all the way to 10pm. Tons of time to do so much! I had 2 excursions booked (through the ship--I didn't know any better then). Calica is a great port, not because of the port, but because you can easily go to Playa del Carmen, or go to Xel-ha, Xcaret, Tulum, etc, etc, etc. They need to bring back that 5-day itinerary: Cozumel 8am-10pm, & Calica 8am-5pm. I know that they can do better than just giving 1 extra hour in Cozumel.

Unfortunately, on that sailing in 2004, Hurricane Ivan was busy obliterating Cozumel & Playa del Carmen on the days we were supposed to be there, so we were diverted.

We would like it. One of our favorite things is hanging out at the beach after the crowds have thinned out, especially is the winter months when the sun sets earlier. Been to a couple of all inclusives during Coz port days and would always take an extra hour.

I'm cruising on the Magic in January and don't see anything indicating my cruise has changed? Where are you all finding this? Is it limited to cruises out of certain ports, certain cruises, or does it appear to be totally random which cruises have been switched? Our Cozumel times are 7-3. I was really hoping it would be extended to 4 or 5!

My cruise details have not changed either but when I did a search for the cruise on the main page it did draw attention to that sailing being Cozumel Plus.

Seems like a lot of hoopla if we are only talking 2 hours extra, though.

I am sailing June 27th and I also have the asterisk with overnight aboard ship My itinerary also still reflects the same port times of 7am to 4pm. I did look through the new excursions listed and the longest they go are 7 hours...so it looks like our hours will not change and we won't get any of the 8 hour excursions. I'm wondering if the asterisk was just a placeholder. I had contacted Carnival's customer service about it and they didn't have a clue as to what it was there for either.
