FTTF Disasterous waste of money

and as a user of fttf myself, i completely disagree with your incorrect fact. fttf may be a complete waste of money to you but for me it was a a godsend.

You show me where I said fact, and I'll not consider your post nonsense. It is my opinion basedd on having used it and I said that. If you can't understand the difference or respect that, then that's your problem.

Nope. Very easy to cheer for #1 these days. Plus never doubted there was a boarding problem on their cruise. Simply stated FTTF is not wasting money in my opinion as op suggested.

Even in ideal situations, fttf is a complete waste of money. This is coming from someone who has gotten it, so my opinion is not out of thin air.

 

 

see the part of your post in red. that is the part where you attempt to state as fact that even in the best of situations fttf is a waste. if.....big if.....you have prefaced your statement with 'in my opinion' or 'to me' or even an 'imo' then your statement would have been accurate......for you. but again, by using poor language skills you attempt to state as fact something that is incorrect and then back track on what you said and even attempt to call me out when it's your own inability to type what you are thinking is the problem. if you want to share an opinion that's fine because that is what cc is for but state it as your opinion. a novice might read your opinion as if it were a true fact and never discover whether fttf is worth it to them as it is to many, but not all people.

OP,s review is his, and only his. I cannot argue with it because I was not there. As to FTTF, I will say this. I have tried it twice, once with excellent results, and the last time all was well until debark time, when over 50pc of the ship did self assist. One of the reasons I take FTTF is to get off early, so I can make it to the airport without major stress. That was not the case on my most recent use of FTTF. I made it to the airport in good time, but it was stressful. I also realise that there is no way to know how many will do self assist, so therefore FTTF is not a guarantee of getting off EARLY. Just saying. All things considered, the benefits to FTTF, still outweigh the not so good/worth it things, therefore I am doing it again this year for the third time. FTTF, and the need for it, or no need for it, is a personal thing. Good for some, not for others.

If there are new Smoke Eaters in the Conquest Casino, they must be broken already. Foul at best. We had to transverse the area, several times, to get to the Alchemy Bar. The Alchemy Bar makes a nice Manhattan. We originally went there on Thursday to do the Martini Tasting (group of 4) but were told they only do that the first day of the cruise.

The Alchemy Bar makes a nice Manhattan. We originally went there on Thursday to do the Martini Tasting (group of 4) but were told they only do that the first day of the cruise.

 

They have to be cleaned periodically or they stop being effective. The plates get fouled with a sticky tar that has to be cleaned off. Carnival has been accused of having sketchy maintenance in the past. The Smoke machines may be just one more can that gets kicked down the road. ;)

Probably wasn't a good option this time. Many Plats/Diamonds on this trip, possibly because of the DR. So they all boarded first. Only one tender port and a lazy GS. Then all the Plats/Diamonds and self debarks. We are used to having all cabins ready at boarding on Princess and I didn't want to lug suitcases around, through Lido lunch, until 2pm. At least that worked out.

Maybe you should read the entire statement and highlight the entire statwment where I went on to say MY opinion. Now if you disagree that's your right. Just like it's my right to say how I feel. And I don't have to vet my statement for you or anyone else's approval on this board before I post it. Common sense says that if a person says how they feel about something and then say this is my opinion based on experience that one should be able to see that I said it was my opinion. I didn't attempt anything. I stated how I felt about it. But because you vehemently disagree that's wrong.

I specifically stated it was based on my own experience as I know many opinions on here are made about things from which the person has no experience or experience so distant that it's no longer relevant. I have also stated that before anyone wholly condemns fttf that they should try it for themselves. Then make a judgment for themselves. Not for you or anyone else. I said and will continue to say that fttf is an overrated waste of money. You want it. Buy it. But don't waste your time trying to argue with someone who came to a conclusion you don't agree with on their own. I said it was my opinion and it is. And unfortunately for you, you don't get to tell people how to say things. In any case I was clear. Never used the word fact. Only you did.

 

My language skills are hardly poor. A novice would read a person's entire statement. Moreover anyone should know that if it's not fact then it's opinion. Can't be both. i haven't even started to argue so no expectation of arguing with myself. i made a statement and backed it up. if you wish to disagree feel free to do so. if you wish to state an opinion, do so up front and not at the end of a paragraph.....and yes i saw what you wrote at the end but that doesn't change the sentence you typed. either way, believe what you want. to me fttf is very useful.....to others, maybe not but even things i don't like i would never tell to someone else that something i didn't like was a complete waste because not everyone thinks like i do.

My wife and I noted that the Conquest was the worst for smoke smell aft of the casino that we've ever encountered.

While doing the cattle yard, we had a long conversation with our porter. He said that pier is the worst he has worked at. Always slow. Always only a couple of Agents (there were 3) and they stop the line frequently allowing for the flow to remain steady. Don't know how true this is but someone will chime in. The porter said, a passenger can disembark at any point and the ship can not refuse to let you off. So one can get off the ship immediately with no recourse. Maybe this is a well kept secret. It used to be the porters had a special line they could get through fast and why we used them/ But that has been done away with because the Agents complained they were working too hard (good one).

 

We were on the Conquest in October and disembark was a nightmare! Our porter also told us how bad it is there. Feel lucky you had 3 agents, we only had 2! There were people on our FB group that stated they did not get out of the port until almost 3:00!

Not sure if it held up the next cruise. Seemed that everyone was possibly off the ship, but took forever to get through customs once off. However, as I said this was back in October.
