Are children allowed to eat lunch at the Aqua Spa Cafe?

Can anyone confirm if children are allowed to eat at the Aqua Spa cafe on Solstice? I do understand they can't swim in the solarium adult pool but thought the cafe was a different story.

Thank you in advance.

The Aqua Spa is the spa area of the ship and I would imagine it is off limits to children. The Aqua Spa Café is an eatery that is located in the Solarium and it is open to everyone. The Solarium itself is considered "adult only" during most cruises, although they do sometimes make exceptions and allow children to use the pool.

Hope that clarifies.

I wouldn't think that most kids would like the menu; not very kid friendly. You can always pick up something and take it to another part of the deck. They generally have pre-portioned servings out to take and go.

Even though my boys will be 16 and 14 I won't let them go to any of the adult areas. If they want something from aquaspa cafe I will get it to go for them. I saw on Norwegian parents bringing kids to adult venues and felt bad for couples without kids that wanted to enjoy the few kid free zones.

2013 on the Reflection, and the last 2 Nov's on the Equinox there were families eating together at one of the tables on all 3 cruises. The rudeness was people playing cards at one of them for hours an hours.

But as mentioned before, the menu options are very limited, 1 fish, 1 chicken, mainly salad and fruit combos, with a couple of soups.

They also have fresh cooked to order meats (at least salmon. Not sure what else because I had salmon for lunch everyday of our last cruise).

I really don't think a kid would be thrown out of the "Table area" while eating lunch.

Having only done one previous Celebrity cruise, what is the age for young adults to use the solarium?

From Celebrity:

Age Requirement

Thalassotherapy Pool* Age 16 and over*

Fun Factory Facilities Ages 3 through 17, with age-specific sections.

Theater Under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian

Pools** Guests must be fully toilet trained to enter the pools or whirlpools

Whirlpools ** Under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult

Ports of call Under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult

Bingo Under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult

Fitness Center Age 16 and over

Aqua Spa

Age 18 and over

Ages 13 through 17 may only be present while participating in scheduled treatments

Adult Night Club / Disco Age 18 and over (see Alcohol Policy)

Casino*** Age 18 and over (except Alaska***)

* During inclement weather and select hours, the ship may permit the Solarium Pool (if covered) to be used by persons under age sixteen (16) provided they are directly supervised by a parent or guardian.

Are the menus the old ones? If not then good news that Celebrity has changed backbecause Celebrity had decimated the Aqua Spa cafe to a shell of its former self.

I think it is just the pool that is off limits to children. Has anyone got a link to where children cannot enter or eat in the Solarium?

It is posted on the doors leading to the Solarium. Adults-only area (defined as 16+). So I think it's a stretch to expect to go to the Aqua Spa Cafe as well unless you plan to just grab something and go. The tables for the cafe are in the Solarium. I have seen staff actively monitoring the area and asking families to relocate when they start to congregate.

I disagree, sophisticated kids will love the menu, especially the smoothies - sort of like healthy, nutritious milkshakes.

It depends what you call kid friendly. When we visit the US and my kids ask for vegetables with their meal, after the strange look from the waitstaff, they know exactly what will come out: broccoli. A few years ago, our youngest DS asked us if they grew any other vegetables in the States as he only ever got broccoli :D. (Obviously I am referring to tourist areas.)

We always ask for a plate of vegetables at dinner. The waiters are usually very good and bring it automatically after the first couple of nights.

They can at the very least go to the aqua spa cafe and get food, accompanied by an adult. Not sure about eating there though. I have taken my children there to get food. They were welcome there. A while back my daughter had food allergies and the manager insisted I bring her there and they specialty cooked pork loin and tuna for her. I have asked and been told they are welcome to go get food. I believe they must be accompanied by an adult. I would not send them alone. We have always taken our food and eaten elsewhere so unsure about the tables. I know on our last family scavenger hunt we had an item we needed to get from the aqua spa cafe. We were told to be respectful and we had to go with our child to get it. Also families can cut through/walk quietly through but cannot sit/swim/stay, only walk through to get from one end of the deck to another. But yes, some kids enjoy their food.

They are not allowed.

So you are saying they can not get food and take with them?

I think the X website should be more clear then. It only says they can't use the pool, doesn't say anything about the aqua spa cafe.

I think they would be fine walking through the line at the cafe, getting food and taking it out of the Solarium to eat it. Children walk through the Solarium all the time, stopping for a couple of minutes to get food (or at a minimum looking at the choices and telling you what to get) would not be a problem.

Per the manager and staff on both the summit and Reflection children accompanied by an adult can get food in the aqua spa cafe. We have never tried to actually eat there so I cannot comment, but I specifically asked in the past and they were welcome to get food. I am not sure you would want to sit there and eat. If you go, I tell my kids no talking, get their food and move along. I would get something and take it with you. I believe they can only do this if the adult if present.

I am a firm believer in the no children rule for the solarium. Families are allowed to walk through the area quietly, respectfully to get from one area to the other. But are not allowed to sit or swim.
