Very close as others have mentioned. You'll probably fly in right over Port Everglades as you land.

When you go up the first ramp exiting the airport, you can easily see the ships in that day.

Your question has been answered but I am puzzled as to why you mentioned the hotel reservation in Fort Lauderdale? Are you renting a car and returning it to the airport, thus needing a cab between the two points on embarkation day?

Double check with your hotel. A few do offer shuttle service.

Depending on the Terminal and the Pier it could be anywhere from 1.5 to 2 miles as the crow flies.
