Shock Horror.

OK back to business.

Don't know if this little snippet was mentioned previously.

If you're from o/s and you're a devotee to the shrine of Burger King, in Australia, it translates as Hungry Jacks.

And McD's is Mackers.

And the burgers are better at H.J's

Haven't seen a Pizza Hut or Sizzlers for years.

Seems like most Pizza Huts are going delivery/take away rather than eat in.

Still a few Sizzlers, some in Qld, one at St George leagues club in Sydney, one at Camobelltown, only ones I know of, Mrs Gut sees a specialist at St George always an excuse to visit sizzler.

Omg sizzlers!!!

I remember going there the first time I visited Australia. It must have been somewhere on the Gold Coast. It was a novelty back in the mid 90s.

Ahhh the Gold Coast. I could have been there this very minute if I wanted to go on the family holiday I didn't want to go on.

So, No-Go Areas for tourists.Heres my input, for what its worth.

One rule of thumb for us,get out by 10.00pm, we call it the witching hr, this is where the alcohol is really starting to kick-in.

Taxi-ranks will start to fill.

Lock-out rules will start to kick in.(if applicable).

The Valley (Brisbane) sort of be out of there by 10.00pm.

South Bank(Brisbane) funky ,fun ,friendly ,not to many probs here.

Cavill Ave (gold coast) like maybe stretch that to 11.00pm

Hindley St (Adelaide) confusing, use the 10'ish rule of thumb

Gouger St (Adelaide) lotsa restaurants, fairly tame.Fun.

Lower Oxford St (Sydney) definite no-go. good-luck after 10.

Middle Oxford St (Sydney) slightly better, start walking up about 10.

Upper Oxford St (Sydney) much better .Not-bad until 12.00pm

Kings Cross (Sydney)Why, seedy, sleazy, and fairly dangerous.Out by 8/9pm

Friday night crowd.(workers ,familys ,the weekends here)(mostly chilled)

Sat night crowd. The mood ramps abit, last chance for a party, weekends over.

Sunday afternoon sesh crowd. Quite brillant, chilled, laid back, fun.

Again one persons perspective.:):)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh, they've closed the "Advice to overseas tourists coming to Australia" thread, where am I going to get my daily dose of humour.

Actually I was trying to notify the Fashion Police that I had just washed the delivery that arrived late last week. I'm sure they will be pleased that I am now the proud owner of a further 10 Pairs of short WHITE SOCKS to go with my white joggers.:D

Ten pairs of socks is a massive overkill ... but dont forget to pack 27 pairs of "jocks" :D

regards

John

If you are on the Gold Coast, there is a Pizza Hut at the southern end of Kirra Beach worth a visit.

The food may not be anything to write home about, but it has a view of the beach to die for.

Even better, Earth 'n Sea at Coolangatta is the best, pizza/pasta 1 metre high, well nearly. Opposite is the Cooly Surf Club, not bad either.

As Uncle Les says..above all, enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to think it was a big deal going to P.Hut for dinner:rolleyes:

I remember ye olde Pizza Hut 25 years ago, had to save up for a month to take the family there for a rip off $15 cardboard pizz and a $10 giraffe of 2019 Moselle. . Now they just about give them away. Down here at Batemans Bay, we can get pizzas for $5 in the winter, then in the tourist season when all the rich Canberrans like our Mic come over for holidays, they go back up to $15. Then we locals hibernate or go cruising. LOL.

That's why I like Princess, complimentary pizzas, even a GF base for Uncle.

I think the main reason it was closed was it was going round and round in circles and little new stuff was being added. Was interesting how many people took the comments literally in the initial stages

The worst thing was that a couple of us started new threads with a similar theme but they got moved or closed.:(

Interesting, after what has happened in the previous 72 hrs not a peep.

I mean really.

Must be either my lack of experience or immaturity, but how do you all do it.

Do tell, what happened?

If it is about the other thread, then it is best ignored.

Yep that's what I'm talking about, one must learn to ignore, and recognise the real, people.:)

He has been and gone under a number of Pseudonyms, Don't worry,he will go too far again and be banned again. Everyone can see that there is a aspect of something more (perhaps Asperger's syndrome?) going on.

Best to ignore him and heed George Carlin who said. "Never argue with an #&*!$. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

Sometimes I just cannot help making a comment to something that has been said.
