Carryon Beverages

You would think with the FREE beverage packages onboard that they would not be so restrictive. Oh well.

Thanks for the info. Glad I asked.

You also cannot carry on water and it is not included in the UBP.

Some think it's for safety reasons, some say to stop smuggling alcohol on, some say it's for revenue$$$$$ which some people think is "nickel and diming"

Pick your battle, there is probably "some" truth to all of the above.

other cruise lines you can bring 12 pack of soda without any problems and you use to be able to do the same on NCL years back..so i think it might be a revenue or smuggling issue.

Ugh, free water on board with the UBP? Forgive me, my last cruise was with DCL last year and I've heard Nobody does it better than Disney!

Free water at water dispenser in buffet and bathroom sink. Bottled water is charged.

Only casino guests get free bottled water.

I heard that NCL does not allow carrying on soda any longer. Would that include Seltzer? I like Cranberry Seltzer.

Don't have anything to add other than to say to your DH - we were on the Star Pacific Coastal with you a few years ago.

Not everyone gets the beverage package. It's not really "free" free, you have to pay about $90 in tips in advance, and for people that don't really drink, they might not want it.

Hi, we've just booked our first NCL cruise and can see that bottled water isn't included on UBP, on previous cruises I've tried to have a bottle of water for each glass of wine I have which keeps me hangover free - does anyone know if they will serve free water in the bars or do I need to think about ordering bottled water??

Depends on what you mean by "free water". I've never seen any bar, whether on land or at sea, that charges for a glass of water. Free water is available in plenty of places aboard. At the buffet, at restaurants, at bars.

If you mean "free bottled water".... well then... no. Bottled water is not free.

You are absolutely right. We have always brought on water. We do not like what they offer. They say the time it takes to check it. We always just rolled it on in a small rolling bag. Justified the alcohol saying they didn't want anyone drinking too much, now they give unlimited package.

Thanks - that's answered by question - I meant safe "tap water" realising that bottled water is not included - so, for example, if I ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water in a bar I would get that without having to make a separate visit to the buffet or similar drinks station

You can bring as much water as you want on to NCL ships last year until the policy changed in the summer.
