I haven't seen them on Allstate that I can remember but AARP does have the 100 and 500 cards right now. And they  can be used similar to Carnival for bookings on board expenses etc.

AARP also has Princess as well as Holland America cards.  You also do not have to be a member of AARP to buy them.  You do however need to be a member to purchase Carnival cards on their site since they are classified as premium cards.  The limit is 5 cards per person per month, so you theoretically could get 5000 worth each month between you and your SO.

Interesting. I knew you had to be an AARP member to buy the Carnival cards and assumed it would be the same for Princess and others. Thank you for letting me know.

No problem.  We got cards  from AARP for Celebrity that were classified as premium and had a great deal on Black Friday 2021.  Was able to only get 2 cards, but it was at a higher discount and even after factoring in the membership cost was still cheaper than 10% off.

Seems like the HA cards are similar to Princess and Carnival in that you can use them for all purchases and are not restrictive like the Celebrity cards.

Huh.  I win the 100 pts for pac man each time, easily.

Too many days playing my Atari 2600, I guess.

Though, this week I've had nothing but scratch and lose.

I was never a huge Pac Man fan...Atari or arcade versions. But I do remember when it came out for Atari, we got it for Christmas that year and the entire family gathered around taking turns. It was the first and only video game my mom ever played. It was too nerve-wracking for her. I can still hear her screaming running from them ghosts. LOL She tried it once and never touched a video game controller ever again. 😆

Having sailed all three cruise lines (Carnival, Princess, and Holland America) since the COVID restart, I can confirm that Holland America gift cards are pretty much exactly like Princess and Carnival gift cards.  That is, HA give cards have virtually no restrictions on how they can be used to pay for cruise fare or for onboard ship purchases.  You can even use the "casino trick" cash-out with HA gift cards.  It is interesting to me, though, how few people I run into on HA and Princess cruises know about the existence of discounted gift cards.

The lesson I have learned is that if they have one of those little count down things, stock up on gift cards.

Anyone know how long they "stayed off" last time they disappeared?

Wondering as well......

I think it was between 2-3 weeks, and it went from physical cards to e-cards.

I need to go ahead and book some excursions for upcoming cruises before they either sell out or go up in price (as many of the other excursions already have) and I REALLY wanted to use gift cards since basically for all of the ones I will be purchasing, it is going to be over 1k...so basically like a $100 savings or more.  Well, so I once again tried the AARP website (since we are memebrs) and, once again, it didn't work.  I tried again.  Finally called AARP and all I got was someone was someone trying to sell me a medic alert bracelet/device. I tried to tell them I am 42 and don't need a medic alert device and they continued to talk over the top of me. Finally hung up.  Tried the website again. Still won't work. Even the paypal link won't work.  So, I guess I will just suck it up and pay full-price with a credit card.

Just went to AARP to try it out. Was able to purchase a gift card.

I'm looking through the AARP site and can't find the Carnival gift cards.  Did a search, nothing.  Help!!! TIA!!

Are you a member and are you logged in?  I logged in and found them.  They are listed at Premium.  Members only.  After you sign in, look for the drop box that has Discover on it.  Go to the "Redeem" and then "Members Only"

Happy March!  Spin Game is back!  I didn't win, and it only gives you two chances.  I really remember it giving 3 before....hmmm..

But I did a quick look and no Carnival cards yet.

Make sure you are looking at the AARP Rewards site not just AARP. https://www.aarp.org/rewards/discover/

I tried the link and don't see any of the above.  I was on that page before.  Argh!!!

How many points is needed to buy a card?  10,000 like Allstate?  Thanks!

I’m going to have to let others answer this one. I haven’t bought any AARP cards since they made Carnival members only. I only posted today because I was on the site earlier in the week looking at Princess cards and remembered seeing the Carnival cards on the first page.

On AARP you don’t need points for Carnival Cards.  You must be a paying AARP Member.

This is what I see at the top but scrolling down I don't see what you see. 😞

Click on,  *AARP rewards 3,765 points. Then, under your rewards balance, click in the box, my said "discover", then "redeem", it then gave an option for "members only", click that. It will be under that.

The only way I was able to finally buy some AARP cards was getting on my phone (not my computer) and paying for them through paypal.  The AARP website always says I have incorrect address information BUT my address information is the same on all credit cards and with AARP.  I have lived in the same house since 2008. (I do have a lake house we lived in briefly, but none of my bills were sent there and it isn't listed with aarp.)
