Norwegian breakaway… Smoke from Casino into O'Sheehans???

How bad is the smoke from the casino if you are eating, bowling or playing games in O'Sheehans while on the breakaway? Thanks!

I was on the getaway and it wasn't bad.

 

But that goes for how sensitive you are to certain smells, everyone is different.

 

Also, certain times when more people are around might be heavier.

 

What's your concern with the smoke?

It is interesting because I have also been on both the Getaway and Breakaway. On Getaway, the smoke was not noticeable in O'Sheehan's but on Breakaway, the smoke from the casino was much, much, much worse - so much so all you had to do was walk through that area and your clothes would stink and yes, it is a problem in the area of O'Sheehan's. I think realistically NCL needs to go non-smoking in the casino on these ships due to the location. But yes, on Breakaway, it is a horribly stinky smokey area and it does impact O'Sheehan's and everything else nearby.

Maybe I got lucky but both times on the Breakaway I never really noticed smoke at O'Sheehan's, and we spent a lot of time at the railing looking down on the Atrium.

We haven't cruised on Breakaway, but have been on the Getaway a couple of times. I have not noticed the smoke at all.

I am thinking that we will spend a lot of time there. I can tell that my kids will really enjoy. However, if it is filled with smoke then we're going to have an issue.

Just off the Getaway last week. I don't think I ever noticed the smell of smoke in O'Sheehan's. However, I thought the restaurant did smell bad. Not sure what it was, but it wasn't pleasant.

We didn't smell smoke while in O'Sheehans. They have an area towards the back of the restaurant that we preferred to sit. Loved the wings!

Cruised on the Breakaway about a year and a half ago. The smoke wasn't bad at all, and was not noticeable in O'Sheehan's. You will be fine.

I agree with Gregor4500.... two times on Breakaway and many meals at all times throughout day / night without any issue from the smoke and never noticed it in the Atrium when attending a gazillion things.

I have never smelt smoke in o'Sheehans on any ship.

 

Perhaps if I was to sit in there and talk a deep breath to see whether I could smell smoke then maybe i would, but I've never done that.

 

If it wasn't for cruise critic I wouldn't even know it was an issue.

 

I say that as someone who used to hate smokey pubs, before it was banned.

We didn't smell any smoke in BA O'Sheehans and I'm sensitive. We did in areas immediately around the atrium though, more of a ashtray smell vs. smoke.

To be honest, I found O'Sheehan's to have the worst food and service on the ship, so I wouldn't plan on spending a ton of time there. Well, I guess I did sit at the bar on a couple of occasions.

I agree. Never bothered us non-smokers at all.

We are non smokers and sensitive to it. However, I do enjoy a great drink several times a day! This definitely looks like a place we want to hang out especially with the kids

I am very sensitive to smoke. I was on the breakaway a few weeks ago and did not notice any smoke in O'Sheahans.

Over by the bowling and games is even further from the casino than where we hung out. But you may not want your kids hanging out there too much, the cost of the games can add up.

We had breakfast in OSheehan's often and a couple of lunches and didn't notice or smell any smoke.

I'm a non-smoker with asthma and it bothered me. Worse at nights. I was ok to eat breakfast and early lunches when seated in the back. Worse design of the Breakaway is that you can't avoid the smoke of the casino when walking midship on decks 6, 7, and 8. Eating/drink starboard outside on deck 8 was not an option for me D/t the smoke.
