If you are a Le Club Voyage (LCV) member ( that is you have done an Azamara cruise and registered for the LCV on the website at https://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/le-club-voyage/enrolment) when you book your next cruise you can ask for a stateroom upgrade at a cost of $398. https://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/le-club-voyage/le-club-voyage-programme/member-benefits. If there are upgrades available they are allocated according to LCV status.

I am an LCV member but I would be on the lowest tier. Do you ask your TA? I presume the money is in USD? Thanks

No, you just do it through the link on the Azamara website, if you are fortunate to be offered one , your Agent will be notified a week or two before you go and will also collect the money from you, it may be in your local currency.

Are there other factors in allocation such as when you applied, or whether you have previously received an upgrade?

In the event of there being fewer upgrades available than people requesting them, I think after LCV status (level) date of application may be considered and whether your LCV points are all from Azamara cruises( LCV has reciprocal arrangements with Celebrity)

Should have said that since this offer has been available we have applied twice. The first time we got an upgrade from Ocean View to Verandah, the second time we did not get an upgrade from Verandah ( obviously as there are many more Verandah Staterooms than Club Continent Suites, there are likely to be more upgrades from Ocean View to Verandah, than from Verandah to Club Continent Suite.)

Thanks very much for this information! Do you know if single cruisers pay the US 398 also or is there a reduced cost?

The upgrade cost is per stateroom, not per person. Singles or doubles pay the same amount, $398usd.

  • 2 months later...

Onboard Quest at the moment and I have been discussing the free LCV upgrade offers with the LCV Loyalty Ambassador onboard this morning.

She told me that as both ships were sailing full on nearly all cruises now that these LCV upgrades were going to be very rare indeed in the future.

We are sailing at over capacity and have a large group of Spanish people onboard on a "freebie cruise" paid for by their company. They are very lively and I'm sure the Casino profits are up a lot this week! :D

Lottie, hope you've had a great time on Quest. Your comment about the LCV upgrade by the Loyalty Ambassador doesn't surprise me. Azamara seem to gave gotten much smarter over recent months in filling their ships. I've had a number of cruises where there has been quite a few cabins available one day and the next they are all gone. Not sure what happens to them, but they've found a way to sell them somewhere.

I know this an older thread, but I have a question. If I'm offered an upgrade that I don't like, may I keep the stateroom I had originally booked? Thanks.

Yes, the upgrade can be declined. However, once it is accepted and payment is collected, then generally speaking, you can't get your original stateroom back.

Means that if you're offered an LCV upgrade (which if you are lucky generally happens 1-6 weeks before the cruise) you have to make your mind up whether you want to take the offered upgraded stateroom. If you say yes, then you have to stick with that upgraded stateroom. Your old stateroom will probably then be offered as an upgrade to someone else (unless it was an inside stateroom)

Did you know that upgrades are now available for guests who book Club Continent Suites?

Upgrades will be from Club Continent Suites to Club Spa Suites, Club Ocean Suites, and Club World Owners Suites.

Pricing will vary, and will not be $398 USD per stateroom.

Here's the webpage with the form to fill out if you're interested.

Hi Phil,

What Azamara now seems to be doing much more at the moment to fill the ships (all cruise-lines do this)

Is offer Travel Agency groups large discounts on selected cruises provided they package them with airfares and accommodation. This disguises the actual price of the staterooms - if you ask to book just the stateroom the price is the same as Azamara

We are considering booking a 14 day cruise in Asia with return airfares from Sydney and 2 pre-night hotel

For the same price as just the stateroom on Azamara

Yes, I received an email from an online TA who was offering an Azamara Christmas cruise (plus hotels and airfare from gateway cities in US or Canada) for what appears to be an amazing price (almost the same as the stateroom price on the AZ website).

What does this mean??

Or rather- I know what it means, but how can it be?

Just disembarked Quest this morning. There were many children....for Azamara anyway onboard. I think it was around 30 of them, so that means treble occupancy....or even more for each cabin if there are two kids. There was a large Mexican family group onboard and a very large group of Spanish people who I believe were on a company paid for freebie cruise. Apparently some of the Entertainment and Admin Staff were moved out of their normal Deck 3 cabins to allow guests to use them for the week, hence the over occupancy. This is what we were told anyway. However the ship did not seem crowded at all and they held their own Spanish events.

The large Mexican and Spanish groups and the larger than usual group of children did not impact on us or our enjoyment of the cruise at all. The only issue was that we wanted to go to Aqualina on our last evening and it was closed for a Spanish party event. No problem....we just went to Prime C!

The weather was blazing hot at every port and on some days I stayed on our balcony and had a "fake sea day" which was relaxing.

The officers and crew were just as good as always and we had a lovely time.

Thanks to HD Philip, CD Russ, LCV Host Amanda, Max the piano player, our butler Osvy, Arnall, Warren, Elroy, Ferdinand Ramesis and too many others to name for all their kindness and care to me. :*
