Waiting to disembark the Norwegian Breakaway after a fabulous time the weather in Bermuda was awesome. The only complaint that I have is why do the Haven guest get to buy vibe passes when they already have a private area with a pool. We arrived at the terminal at 8:30am got a good place in line, when it was time to board my wife and I ran like we were in the great race got to customer service and got 2 vibe passes with only 4 left !!! Found out latter that day most of the vibe passes went to haven guest again they got their perk with private area NCL needs to change that.

Because the Haven is open to families and kids. Vibe is adults only.

And this is why the Haven doesn't appeal to me. But I agree that people who are willing to pay a premium to be in the Haven deserve first dibbs.

Welcome home. What # boarding pass did you receive ? I know the top tiers such as Ambassador, Platinum plus and Platinum board right after Haven.

Because the Haven is open to families and kids. Vibe is adults only. Haven guests are VIP. VIPs have first shot. This is life.

No, NCL does not need to change it.

It doesn't matter how much you pay or a VIP everyone deserves a fair chance to purchase a pass to an adults only area.

How would you feel if NCL sold all vibe passes to a corporate organization and you couldn't get a vibe pass for the week you sailed

I disagree with this. I've paid upwards of $400 pp per day to stay in The Haven. If I pay that kind of money, I deserve special treatment. Norwegian treats Haven guests special, and for a good reason.

And we had a minor inconvenience with dining due to an affinity group on Getaway on our last sailing with NCL. They made good on it. They had special dietary needs, so Norwegian had Le Bistro set aside for them.

Deserves? This is exactly what is wrong with society these days. The decision is NCL's to make and they choose to do it this way. NCL is not a democracy.

I think that some of the allure to Vibe Passes is the ability to buy exclusivity...a level of concierge service. I've never purchased one but I think what is being purchased is private child-free sun-deck space, more comfortable seating, and perhaps some level of personalized bar service (though from other posts that piece sounds iffier). At the end of the day doesn't Spice H2O deliver about the same service... just without the concierge-like components? I don't believe there's a Vibe pool...there is a water feature in Spice. So far, that's kept me from doing the mad dash. Can certainly see why Haven guests would want dibs.

They "get" to buy VIBE passes for the same reason that you "get" to buy VIBE passes. There is only one adult-only sundeck that is also exclusive and that is VIBE.

Would you also ban Spa guests (either from Spa stateroom or Spa pass) from buying a VIBE pass? They also "already have a private area with a pool" clear.png?emoji-roll-eyes-1744

There is nothing to change. Haven guests also have a restaurant. Does that mean that Haven guests shouldn't be allowed to make reservations in other restaurants?

Based on "everyone deserves a fair chance...", is if "fair" to guests who have to fly in and arrive later than you arrived? Is it "fair" that people who arrive at 8:30 have a better chance than others who cannot arrive that early? Is it "fair" that Haven guests, CAS guests, Ambassador, Platinum Plus, Platinum, wedding party, and special needs guests ALL get to board before general boarding?

Is it fair that Haven guests can use the hot-tub in Spice H2O even though Haven guests already have their own hot-tub?

The feeling that "Haven guests already have A so they shouldn't be allowed B..." makes no sense. It would be like banning someone with a lounger on their balcony from using a lounger on the pool deck because they "already have a lounger....".

Pretty sure some of the folks here making comments have not thougt through their suggestions.

Everybody should get a chance. Okay, exactly how would you make this happen? Lottery? Drawings? Tell Plat and high paying customers tough luck?

Should book in advance. Assuming NCL wants to give either suite folks, or VIP, or Casino, or Platinum folks priority - many people may still not get it.

It is not fair. Or course some things are not fair. This is the way it is. Lots of things in life are not fair. Like my paying lots of taxes so others do not have to work. Or Lexus charges way more for a car than Kia. Not fair. It is what it is.

Bid For Them: Maybe, but when do they close the bids. What if some people start jacking up the price because they don't care about money. NCL might like it because they will probably get MORE money than they do today. And, lots of pissed off customers.

Very nice of you to come back. Cruise Critic is for discussion and exchange of ideas and viewpoints. I certainly was not offended, even though I disagreed. [emoji849]

Glad you enjoyed your cruise, including VIBE.

The process works EXACTLY as it should. Havens guests followed by Casino, Ambassador, Platinum Plus, and Platinum passengers should get priority access to Vibe if they desire.

If they all show up for early boarding, that is over 1000 passengers before general boarding. And the race for the 100 Vibe passes.

Just like any hotel or airline, priority people get priority treatment.
