Do we get lanyards when we check in?

Recommended Posts

Do you carry a cellphone or something magnetic in your pocket?

Probably my cell so one more reason to wear my Gold, Plum, or Black card on our lanyard. Works great in the tender lines and on disembarkation on the smaller ships. Not to mention the lines at GS. Does that bother you ??

If you were asking me, no, I don't care if you use a lanyard.

I only asked because my wife managed to get her Sea Pass erased because she used a purse with a magnetic clasp and/or sometimes stored it next to her cellphone. So she learned the hard way. I've always been careful not to put it in the same pocket as my phone.

Though I would think it shouldn't be an issue with the RFID cards. But we've not been on a ship yet with those cards.

Yes. Sorry. I have been accused of erasing my card with my Cell Phone but generally after playing late in the Casino until closing and then unable to open my cabin. I can find GS and with new card find my way home.

Sorry I didn't realise what a controversial topic lanyards would be! I have loads from previous Disney cruises (where they are given out free at check in). I will bring some for the family. Really useful tip about the cards getting wiped by cellphones btw so thanks.

If lanyards are good for Disney, certainly they are good for Royal. We wear ours.

No one is bothered by it.

We are trying to do you a favor by telling how ridiculous it looks.

You should be thanking us.....

As bad as fanny packs and muscle shirts?

LOL Brilliant response! :D:D

But I have to admit I hate lanyards too. Maybe it's because one on the colleges I teach at make the faculty wear one everywhere on campus.

Some of my shorts don't have pockets, so I can see the practicality of using a lanyard especially after the reaction the Lido deck waiter had when I fished my sea-pass card out of my crotch.

This is nothing. It is very tame discussion by CC standards. If you want to really stir things up, you can ask few new questions that have more firework potential.

Few topic suggestions to get you started:

1 – Why can’t the slob cruisers dress better on formal nights?

2 – Do I really have to tip the workers?

3 – Should Royal have bathrooms to accommodate transgender cruisers?

Light the match with these topics and RUN AWAY really fast to observe from a distance…;p

Yes they are. Some hate to see the Gold, Plum, and Black cards on a lanyard.

Don't forget white. I'm just going to get chipped. Works for the dog. Some company up north is chipping their employees.

Oh, and lanyards are lame. [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12]

I can't believe you forgot the "should RC introduce first class vs steerage class" and should only first class passengers have access to pepper grinders;)

Did you ever work in a job where your name was sewn into the shirt above the pocket?

Dear M.E.

Never had my name on the front of my ... er...work shirt. But I had in on the back a few times.

Regards,

Mr. C. Jail

Yes, as a teacher, I wear one every day. ☺

Please don't use a lanyard.

It is a very bad look.

Use a small keychain and keep it in your pocket.

I have a clear plastic card holder that clips on your waistband. It has a rewinding string that goes back in place after pulling your card out and back in. I love it. It is usually hidden under my tops, even on dressy tops. It's a nice alternative to the neck lanyard. I bought it in the shop on board the ship.
