My Stateroom Has Disappeared

I am not sure [emoji848]. The category exists but maybe not on this ship? Nobody seems to know. Just hearing in various groups here and FB that quite a few have lost their previously booked studio cabins and got reassigned as a single in a standard cabin. This is considered an upgrade. My own booking has not changed. The booking had the newer category designation when originally booked.

It’s not a category on Symphony. And I wouldn’t say I’ve been ‘upgraded’ to an ocean view on Deck 3 under the casino and above the mechanics of the ship!

I agree with you, Ned11, and would not consider the reassignment an upgrade...please let us know what your TA works out (and if he/she is worth her salt, you won’t be sailing under the casino).

Thank you. I just don’t think my TA is strong to put my case across. If not, a letter is ready to be emailed to the CEO. I will keep you informed.

They have told me that they needed more space for the restaurants!! Not that they’re not big enough as it is!

Well when you get there you will see if there are cabins there. Also they are going to need less dining space as if they have 10 single cabins less and 10 people in Double/3/4 cabins that is at least 20 passengers less?

I just don’t get the whole thing. It’s just stupid.

RCI not having correct info on a new build is not unusual, almost to be expected. How they handle fixing the issue is what matters. I would ask for a three way call with the TA and RCI and ask for a different cabin. Have you looked for the same exact category in a different location?

One word of advice, don't go by what others may have gotten in this situation - expecting that may never end well.

The deck below is a crew deck not the engine room.

Not sure what you mean On that last "trade" pdf it is /was I believe showing - maybe they just decided to change after that and forgot to tell anyone and didnt

release a ne re-cat.ccFhrP

Dont know if this will be readable but the dot in the blue square bottom right says there are more than 10 cabins of that 2O grade on Symphony (red square top right from May 2018 red square top left.

As I have explained in my other posts, Harmony deck plans were used to book the studio cabins. Symphony got a relaunch on the 12th due to the new features and the cabins were then off the plans. I have spoken to RCI 5 times in which 4 times, they told me I shouldn’t be looking at the deck plans on their website??!! I should look on deckplans.com??!! Then on my 5th call (4th and 5th call was within 20 minutes of each other due to being hung up on) I’m told that my cabin has changed due to ‘recaterogization’ on the ship and needing more space for restaurants.

My grip is that I was ‘guaranteed’ the cabin, made to feel stupid for asking, promised a phone call or email from head office, spending a fortune on phone calls and being ‘upgraded’ to deck 3 under the casino.

The customer service is absolutely shocking and has the piss taken out of me. And the thing is, others are getting better rooms (in my opinion) without even knowing it.

Sorry for the rant but just a tad brassed off!

I don't have it handy (maybe Bob will chime in) but I believe there's a toll free number you can use from the UK.

This is what I've seen: 0800 018 2020

Thanks Bob. I may try again in the morning.

I don’t think my TA is tough enough to explain my brassed offness and will just come back to me and say no.

Again, look for alternative cabins (don't just complain you don't like yours) and ask for a three way call with RCI (so you know it's RCI saying no and not your TA)

I would say with others being reassigned to different cabins and they're not listed on the newest deck plans it would be safely to assume that those cabins aren't going to make it on this shop. I would agree the easiest solution is to call and asked to switch to a different cabin.

My TA has me moved to the other side of the ship further forward.

I don’t think she quite listened to what I was saying on Saturday and she’s asked if I’m ok with it! [emoji848]

I think the answer to that would be no.

Going to have to do this on my own.

Switch cabins on your own through Royal Caribbean customer service although your reservation is with a travel agent? That's gonna be a difficult task. Please let us know how it works out.

I know, this is what I’m worried about. They have told her that they are moving everyone like for like which is BS. The cabin I’ve been moved is the same price as a neighbourhood balcony and others have confirmed this. [emoji35]

Best to ask to ask the TA to move to a specific stateroom number. I'd use Royal's UK website to find an acceptable open stateroom in the same exact category you're in now.

I just don’t understand how others have got Balconies? Is it just potluck? Does my face not fit?

They’ve treated me like crap and I getting nothing.

I asked for either at the front of the ship or balcony like loads of others. They are all the same price.

You get a higher priced and larger cabin for the same price you were going to pay for the studio

I really feel bad for you! I haven’t sailed RC, however I have sailed X couple of times.

I find their ( X) treatment of SOLO cruisers has not been favorable. I would has others suggested, research available cabins and demand a better position on the ship.

My best luck to you,
