ellbon Posted December 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2017 I went and had the shrimp as a main. Wish Mia had used real Cuban rum as a starter drink or dessert drink. At the moment there is three year old Cuban rum on board. Naturally cam on board there or any where but the states

Bejay219 Posted December 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Will be first timers on Azamara in February.... The Chef's Table menu looks like something we would love to do! Is this something that is included for suite guests or is there a fee? How many different Chef's tables do they have for a 12 night sailing? How/when would you sign up? Any information would be appreciated!
Rare uktog Posted December 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Thanks really looking forward to it and now thinking Cuban would be an excellent post Christmas meal. Were you the lady at table with your cousin? No, it was not me. I was on the Quest when it was served in Nov. thought it was only for all Cuban cruises. Never asked. Last summer they tried Asian which I loved. But some food was spicy for others but not me.
Grandma Cruising Posted December 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Chef’s table has a cost of $95pp, but you can buy various packages too, link is https://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/sites/default/files/pdfs/specialty_dining_flyer_070516.pdf. You can make reservations for all speciality dining as soon as you get onboard ( sometimes there’s also a reservations table in the terminal as you board). There will be a reservations table in the main entry to Windows buffet, and there may also be one in Discoveries bar. It’s advised to make your reservations as soon as you get on board. There is an invitation dinner, hosted by a senior officer for top suite guests, called Best of the Best Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare uktog Posted December 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Depending on where you board the reservations table on Deck 5 May be more likely to be in the front of the Casino / Spirits Bar. They keep the Discoveries Bar clear when they are hosting an agents lunch on turn around day. Best bet just ask someone where it is rather than wander around trying to find it Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Is there a Chef's Table for each of the different regions (French, Italian, etc.) on every cruise or is just one per cruise and the Chef chooses the region. Also, just want to clarify, the web site says men might want to bring a jacket/suit for the restaurants, what do men wear at the specialty restaurants, Best of the Best and Chef's Table. Looking forward to Azamara, we are Elite Plus on Celebrity, thought we would try something different! Been getting more info on these boards than I did calling Azamara (they were not very helpful) Thanks again!

Been getting more info on these boards than I did calling Azamara (they were not very helpful) Thanks again! No need for a jacket at specialties or chef's tables. At last B of B three or four men wore jackets, six or seven did not. Your preference. No one else should or will care. Number of chef's tables depends on length of cruise. Ask and reserve right after you board.

Riversedge Posted December 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted December 17, 2017 What % would you say there are of men wearing a jacket in the main dining room? I know it’s not necessary but my husband is debating whether he should take one.

Bloodaxe Posted December 18, 2017 #19 Share Posted December 18, 2017 10% or fewer It is considerably more than that in the speciality restaurants, also you may be invited to dine with a Officer, I always take a Jacket. Not absolutely necessary but nice to have the option in my opinion.

Not absolutely necessary but nice in my opinion. Not in my experience as recent as 12/1 through 12/9. I wish people would stop pushing others to carry a jacket unnecessarily. No reason to have a jacket if you dine with an officer. No one will care whether a man is wearing a jacket. This is not the 1930s, folks.

I understand exactly what you mean and do the same. No need for jackets, but nice to have. You’ll see a few around, but I don’t count them to get a percentage. On the whole everyone is presentable. Agree DH prefers that option. Our experience was far higher than 10% in September and certainly was last Christmas hence why I say it depends on the cruise, the guest demographics etc etc. DH travels in a blazer he can wear onboard so no packing issues. We are not pushing a jacket just giving the whole picture. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Think this might be a cultural difference between us Brits and you guys across the pond. You are absolutely right that no one on Azamara would feel uncomfortable if they dined with an officer or in one of the specialities without a jacket but many British gentlemen would be more comfortable wearing one. It's just different strokes for different folks.
