Taste Bar Gone?

I have fond memories of the sushi place that was there before the taste bar. I would get there at 5pm each night while my bride was getting ready for dinner.

 

Alas it's coming back but won't be free anymore.

I liked the idea of the Taste Bar (although we enjoyed the complimentary sushi place that Taste replaced) but it was not open every night, which was confusing, and some of the items were a challenge to eat with no silverware. I suppose the sushi that replaces it will not be complimentary, but if the prices are reasonable we will probably give it a try.

I loved the sushi bar that the taste bar replaced! My husband was always in awe of the things my picky, seafood-hating self would try (sashimi) while on the ship, but there was something about the sushi bar that made me brave. I’m not sure I can be brave if it’s not free, though.

What are ships that already have a sushi bar getting instead of the taste bar? Will the type of cutback that is just a cutback, a cutback with a free replacement or one with a for-cost replace I wonder?

No Taste Bar on Pride, just cruised two weeks ago. I was very disappointed. For the relatively few hours each cruise that this was open, I would have thought they could keep it. It was a nice little treat.

We really missed it on the Glory during Christmas and New Year's... the normal spot was occupied by the Gingerbread House display. :(

It was on the Dream in November, right around the corner from the sushi place next to the Alchemy in Ocean Plaza.

 

Sadly, it was empty on Dream in August. It had been converted to a basic bar.
