deeko Posted February 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Hi all, I have used Cruise Next for some time now. Always without difficulty. 15days Epic, 10 days Jade, 7 days Epic, 7 days Jade. I have just booked a 4 day cruise and tried to use a cruise next voucher.......oops!!! My TA phoned to say it wasn't applicable to 4 day cruises. No doubt its in the small print somewhere.........isn't everything!!..... I'm just writing this to make anyone who like me thought Cruise Next meant the next cruise......it doesn't quite mean that. Another case of caveat emptor!! Deeko

ColinIllinois Posted February 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Norwegian Cruise Line’s CruiseNext Deposit Terms & Conditions To redeem your CruiseNext Deposit(s) please call your Travel Professional or Norwegian Cruise Line at 1-866-234-7350. At the time of booking, please notify your Travel Professional that you wish to apply your CruiseNext Deposit to the reservation. For guests outside the US and Canada, please call your Travel Professional or the Norwegian Cruise Line phone number listed on NCL.com. 1. When you purchase a CruiseNext Deposit (CND), your shipboard account will be charged in USD and you will receive an instant shipboard credit towards your current cruise. Once the cruise has concluded, the CND will be converted into the currency associated with the agency you made your reservation through for the cruise on which the deposits were purchased (credit will go in your Norwegian Cruise Line guest record or Norwegian Cruise Line Latitudes Rewards account). Currency exchange rates are set at the time of purchase. 2. You must be 21 years of age or older to charge a CruiseNext to your shipboard account. 3. A maximum of four (4) CruiseNext Deposits may be purchased per person. 4. CruiseNext Deposits are refundable only within 30 days of purchase, in the amount paid minus the amount of the instant shipboard credit. A CruiseNext Deposit can only be applied to a new reservation and otherwise has no cash value and is not redeemable or exchangeable for cash. CruiseNext Deposits are transferable at no charge. 5. CruiseNext Deposits ($250 each) and CruiseNext Haven Deposits ($500 each) are valid for sailings of 6 days or longer. CruiseNext Lite Deposits ($100 each) are valid for Norwegian Sky sailings only. 6. Limit one (1) CruiseNext Deposit, of any denomination, may be used per stateroom. CruiseNext and CruiseNext Lite Deposits ($250 each or $100 each respectively) may be used as the full deposit for all staterooms excluding Suites and The Haven by Norwegian (staterooms requiring enhanced deposit). One (1) CruiseNext or CruiseNext Lite Deposit ($250 each or $100 each respectively) may be used as a partial deposit towards the full required deposit for Suites or The Haven by Norwegian. Limit (1) CruiseNext Haven Deposit ($500 each) may be used as the full deposit for all staterooms including Suites and The Haven by Norwegian (staterooms requiring enhanced deposit). 7. You may apply two (2) CND of the same denomination to one (1) stateroom when booking a cruise that qualifies for the Double Up feature of the CruiseNext program. Visit www.ncl.com/cruisenext for full details. 8. All CruiseNext Deposits are valid for new reservations made within 4 years from the date of purchase, and become null and void after expiration. Failure to redeem and sail within 4 years will result in forfeiture CruiseNext Deposit. 9. You must notify Norwegian Cruise Line or your Travel Professional that a CruiseNext Deposit will be applied at the time of reservation. No black-out dates will apply. Reservations are subject to availability. 10. CruiseNext Deposits cannot be combined with chartered cruises, employee, friends and family, interline, or travel agent rates, Welcome Back Rewards or Where to Next? deposits. 11. To cancel a reservation made with a CruiseNext Deposit, submit your request in accordance with Norwegian Cruise Line cancellation policies and procedures. The CruiseNext Deposit will be re-issued minus any cancellation fees, and will retain its original expiration date. If you cancel a reservation made with a CruiseNext Deposit after its expiration date, it will be forfeited. Once a CruiseNext Deposit is applied to a reservation, it is subject to the same cancellation policy, rules and regulations as any other deposit. Another case of caveat emptor!! Deeko There is a version of CN that you can get for shorter cruises called Cruise Next Lite. You can apparently ONLY purchase them on 3-5 day cruises as well unfortunately. I've received conflicting information about the CNL program too. On one cruise, I was told you could only purchase them on NCL Sky and they were only valid on Sky. Another cruise, I was told you could purchase them on any 3-5 day cruise and they were valid on any 3-5 day cruise. So who knows what is accurate as you can't find much information online about CNL either.
deeko Posted February 5, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Thanks for the terms and conditions........ I had just read them for myself after posting and could find NO reference to 4day cruises being ineligible. The certificate was bought last September on Epic and still has over 3 years to run!!! The 4 day I've just booked is a way to fill the days between 10 day Jade and 15 day Transatlantic. The 4 days on the jade fitted perfectly. Perhaps I should query my Travel Agent a bit further.....or better still NCL. Keith knows very well that info from NCL can be very much like Fake News!!! Thanks for replies Deeko

rtkenmore Posted February 5, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 5, 2018 It says in the Terms that the CNL's are only valid on the Sky. Yes I've read that. I'm saying I was told two different things by two different CN consultants on board two different ships.
ColinIllinois Posted February 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Yes I've read that. I'm saying I was told two different things by two different CN consultants on board two different ships. Yea, that's not surprising. I think though I would stick by what the Terms say.

We just disembarked from our Breakaway cruise on Sunday. They told us you can use CruiseNext on the 4-day Sun cruise to Cuba if you book by the end of May. Be advised that you also need a Visa if you don't already have one.

Good info for those of us who may not read all of the fine print. :D They are allowing Cruise next to be used for Cuba 4 day sailing now, so you might want to give it a try to see if they can be applied to your booking or you can cancel existing one to create a new one. If only NCL hadn't cancelled my cruise, I would definitely do this. :( I had one of the 4 day sailings that got turned into a weeklong sailing, with an exponentially higher cost. Since the timing of the remaining 4 days sailings didn't work, I'm hoping to eventually get it rebooked for next year once I see how my schedule shakes out. Rare BirdTravels Posted May 23, 2018 #18 Share Posted May 23, 2018 There are “special” CruiseNext certificates for short Sky cruises. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FLAHAM Posted May 23, 2018 #19 Share Posted May 23, 2018 The CruiseNext infomercial that endlessly plays on NCL TV sets clearly explains this (and other limitations).
Travelenfool Posted May 23, 2018 #20 Share Posted May 23, 2018 Weird... We are booked the end of June on the 4 day Sun with 2 inside cabins and the agent allowed me to use one voucher for each cabin... I had to transfer 1 to my daughters latitude account but everything went pretty seamlessly. Maybe you should try again... you know how inconsistent NCL can be. Good Luck!
