Port Everglades Uber Question

We will request an Uber when departing Silhouette at Terminal 26 in Port Everglades. Where do we stand to wait for Uber to pick us up? Only used Uber a few times and not in such a crowded situation.

I can't speak for your specific terminal. I know typically Uber pulls right up to where a regular car picks you up. It's not hard to find. I always sail with Carnival and I think they're what, 17 or 19 at PE?

There should be an area marked private pick up where they will pick you up.

The Uber driver will communicate with you via your cell phone. You can give a precise location description to him/her.

There is a marked section as you leave the terminal. We use Uber everywhere when we travel but in this case I think a regular taxi is easier since they are there waiting. Uber drivers cannot wait for rides within the port area so it takes a bit longer to get picked up.

We use Uber all the time. But when getting picked up at Port E and going to FLL it saves time, is much easier and about the same cost to use a taxi. But I hate how dirty a taxis is and I don’t think the drivers are as friendly as Uber drivers we have had. IMO

I don't care about waiting a few minutes more for an Uber. We recently had one debarking Silhouette. You are directed to the area for private rides. I called the driver and told him the terminal number and what we were wearing. He was there in 10 minutes. Clean car and pay via the app....no worries about credit cards not being accepted in a taxi or surly taxi drivers.

While the taxis are right there, I've never had to wait over 5 minutes for an Uber at PE. They wait right outside of the terminal then come in when they're called upon. It's not like they're coming from Key West to pick you up. I'd rather wait 5 minutes for an Uber than get in a nasty taxi.

I usually use Lyft over Uber.  Any reason for one over another out of PE?

I also prefer Lyft - I usually pull up both, or my wife will pull up one and I will pull up the other, and see who can pick me up first and if there is a significant difference in the fare.

Each terminal has a Private Pick-Up/Rideshare location.  Look for signs or ASK

how do you know which terminal your ship will be embarking at?  Should I call my PCC or is that in our cruise documents?

You can go to www.porteverglades.net and select "Cruising" and then "Schedule" to find out what berth your ship is scheduled for
