Almost Live from the Grand Princess

Loved the photos, but I have to ask...how to you manage to upload such large files/big pics? Whenever I try to do this in CC, I get an error message that the photo can't be larger than 19K, and small in pixels. I was trying to post a photo yesterday in response to someone's question and finally just gave up because I spent so much time futzing with the size issue.

Wonder if we will be able to do the 360 and park without taking out the Carnival ship ??

Need to finish getting ready to join (or not) the stampede off, I guess... I suspect they will boot us from the cabins shortly.

For whoever asked, MUTS is still going, even this morning with Spiderman!

Thanks so much for the pictures!!! I was on the Dec. 17th sailing on the Grand and we were having difficulties with our camera so it was cool to see the same things I wanted to take pictures of myself. Sounds like you had a smooth sailing... Our trip was a little troublesome... There were major embarkation issues, lost luggage (all of our scuba gear), excursion problems, and a higher than normal number of illnesses on board. Sad because its a beautiful ship... We still got to meet great people and enjoy the beautiful ports. We had the best waiter I've ever had on a ship before in the Da Vinci dining room. I would recommend requesting him to anyone taking the Grand in the future. His name is Karol and he is from Poland. The casino staff is also excellent. Oh and the Grand has Texas Hold 'Em Poker... so much fun!

Ok Zydecocruiser,

You have to walk some of us through posting photos the way you do... lol.. Someone said to right click and check on the properties to see where you host your photos.. It seemed you had them on AOL you've got pictures. But when I use the URL to upload a photo, it says "invalid file".. Help:p

Sorry about the postus interruptus - decided to go to New Orleans for New Year's Eve !!!

Let me know it any of the jeans police catch you in the dining room. Be sure to post pictures of your family. Best Buy called & said my laptop was really so I am picking it up on Monday. I will work on getting my pictures posted by the time you get back from your cruise.

Where them pictures at? I wore blue jeans the first and last night of the cruise, black jeans the other non-formal nights and *gasp* wimped out and wore a semi-suit on the first formal night - but there was an assortment of clothing worn. The only copule I think I saw being turned away was a father-daughter combo, where the father was wearing blue jeans, but more likely it was the tshirt that got them in trouble. I think blue jeans with a collered shirt would have worked - don't think it was the jeans that was the show stopper. The other formal night we all wimped out and ate in the Lido so we could get to MUTS on time. That night I wore shorts and sandals.

Thanks for the pics. If you can get into someone's suite to let us know what its like, please do. We are in C401. I've seen the virtual tour pics, but its hard to tell from those.

Did manage to get some pics from the suite next door the day they booted us off, which looked similar from what I could tell. Too busy in your suite repairing the damage (j/k). What were you looking for?

We are towards the front of the ship on the Lido deck. Can you tell me if the balcony is covered or open? I have never stayed on that particular deck, but was upgraded.

Covered unless you are hanging over the rail. People on the bridge would have a good view of some.

Zydeco -

Quick question about your underwater shots. I have the same Canon set up. Are you shooting in auto mode or manual aperature & shutter? Also, white balance... manual or automatic?

Never want automatic whie balance underwater. Sunny or Overcast depending on day. To adjust WB you need to take out of fully automatic, but usually I let the camera do the rest. Sometimes the autofocus can get fooled.

I run the pics through Photoshop Elements after to fix the colors.

Canon has (scratch that - used to have - a decent guide on thir website but have seriously downsized it:

i think he could post such large pics because they are hosted elsewhere....right click on an image to view "properties" and you will see the hosting info....

Correctamundo. Hosted on AOHell.

From AOL account, create a photo album (under Pictures). Share the pictures to a non-AOL email account. I avoid IE Explorer for the next part.

View the album as Guest (say in Firefox browser). Find pic you want to post. Can drag and drop to CC post or can also cut and past URL.
