On Adventure Of The Seas now Johnny Rockets Price

Recommended Posts

I'm a relative cruise newbie, but did they used to give out free watches?;)

Possibly, but not in my experience.

When we first started with Royal, we used to get a gift from Crown & Anchor at the end of the cruise. Gifts varied cruise to cruise, but most often we got C&A caps. The tote bags were the most useful, very durable. We still use them.

I've done the Breeze with the family a while back. I miss those burgers! I had too many but man alive were they a great feature! My wife loved the Blue Iguana for their wraps.

Have you been on CC lately? Have they also gone down in terms of service/experience?

Celebrity also has the Mast Grill. Free - Great burgers, Grilled chicken, hot dogs and fries Also all the trimmings. But Royal has other great features that Celebrity and the Breeze lack. So I will "suffer" and pay for Johnny rockets. They also serve breakfast- free at Johnny Rockets- but not burgers!

Just off Freedom two days ago and yes, the servers in Johnny Rockets still dance. The poor souls. :) We ate there one night and it cost $46.96 for my family of four, including the 18% service charge. Yes, it's unlimited appetizers, burgers/sandwiches, and soda, but that's still pretty steep, IMO. We didn't order milkshakes, but had we done so, that would've taken the cost up another $23.60.

Yeah, yeah...you're on a cruise, you're on vacation, etc., but $70.56 to take a family of four for a burger and a shake seems pretty steep. JMHO.

Also, someone noted above that they serve complimentary breakfast in Johnny Rockets. True, but only on Oasis class ships, not Freedom class.

Breakfast options on Freedom last week were as follows:

Sea days: Windjammer, MDR (limited to a 60-90 minute window so check your Compass the night before), and Cafe Promenade (pastries only)

Port days: Windjammer and Cafe Promenade (pastries only)

Yes the Mast Grill was great and the Bar on the aft end of the Summit was a great spot to watch the world go by.

We used to have Johnny Rockets in the malls, they all went out of business. hmmm wonder why?

We still have them in some of our malls. They are always very busy. They are a franchise and perhaps some aren’t doing well as many people want healthy options. But not everybody!

Can someone tell me what the Cafe Promenade has for breakfast on the Adventure? Is it just pastries. Our cabin is above there and I was hoping that could be our quick go to breakfast spot.

They had a couple of different breakfast sandwiches too.

Wow. I can't imagine paying $9.95 for JR's on the ship.

When we're in the US, we like to go to Red Robin for a burger and steak fries (unlimited fries). Their double tavern burgers are $6.99. The 3 of us could each order a burger, plus a tall stack of onion rings and spend less than JR's on the ship. And when eating at Red Robin on land, we haven't already paid for a meal (because JR's would be replacing either lunch or dinner on the ship where our cruise fare already pays for that meal).

I don't see it as any kind of value.

Perfect. That's what I was hoping. In our younger kid free years this was our go to spot for late night croissant sandwiches. Now life has changed and I'm looking for quick breakfast at the break of dawn.

  • 3 weeks later...

JR is forbidden for anyone in my family on cruise ships as long as I am paying the bill. I waste a lot of money gambling, drinking, etc..., but I will not pay $10 per person to eat fast food on a cruise. And yes, that $10 is actually more because you already paid for that lunch or dinner. I just don’t get it.

I am NOT a fan of any of the Johnny Rockets I have ever eaten at when home or travelling in other states but I'll never understand a parent making a comment like this. Your comment comes across as needlessly miserly and wastefull at the same time. You justify gambling (because it makes you feel good) and you are critical of what makes others feel good to the point that you ban them from enjoyment. A made-to-order burger might just be the child equivalent worth FAR MORE than the $10 you gamble away in one roll of a dice on a PASS line in like.. 2 seconds whereas a trip to an old time burger joint on a cruise ship could be a thing that a 8-year old kid might remember forever. Here's your sign Scrooge

The questions about free watches was a joke. The original poster had mis-typed Casino as CASIO (no 'N')

Fees for restaurants: Chops, Giovanni's, Izumi, Johnny Rocket's.

Wine tastings usually incur a fee.

Beverages included with your basic cruise fare: tap water, coffee, hot tea, iced tea, lemonade, milk, juices with breakfast.

Extra cost beverages: bottled water, soda, specialty coffees, fresh squeezed juices, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beer, wine.

Excursions cost extra.

The casio costs extra.

The shops cost extra.

What? The casino and Coach store have a fee?! What a bunch of nickel & diming.

:D

Does the pool have free hamburgers or anything? I thought they did in the past, I know Princess sure does. Its really sad that that they charge for a hamburger.... I notice too they charge for room service, really sad.......

Yes, typically you can get a burger from the pool or numerous other places for no additional charge. Johnny Rockets makes cook-2-order burgers & is a franchise so Royal has classified it as a "specialty" establishment and thus the charge.

When my kids are old enough to enjoy a delicious burger from JR on Allure, they can have as many as they like—-they will just have to pay for them. Their normal cruise meal was already paid for by me. At least at a SR, you are getting some value for what you pay.

Gambling is my money, plus there is always a tiny chance of walking away a winner. JR is always a losing scenario.

By the way, I enjoy JR, I just don’t appreciate paying $10 ($40 for my family) on a cruise ship for it.

We did it one day as we were hungry and the WJ was opening abnormally late it felt like. There was no one in there but for a couple of other tables. My DH took it as a challenge to see if it was really only $10 for whatever he wanted. I kept telling him it was. We actually enjoy Johnny Rockets but don't really have one near us anymore so it was a treat. Of course I'm the person who got the chicken salad and a grilled cheese. But man - they put A LOT of chicken on that salad (so much so that I couldn't finish it). I think the shakes were like $6 but we were full and didn't do one.

What RC ships offer burgers by the poolside or any other place burgers are grilled outside? Agree you can get a burger from the WJ and the MDR for no additional charge.
