Familiar Face.

I had just commented to DH that in all of our cruises, with all the passengers aboard, we'd never run into anyone we knew. Just then I turned around to see a good friend and former employer of my mom. We had a great time catching up. That evening in the casino I heard a familiar voice and turned to see a former schoolmate. It turned out that she regularly played Mah Jongg with my mom's friend. Both live in Florida now but were from the Philadelphia suburbs.

Which Queen? There are quite a few to select from... including wannabes too...

LOL

bon voyage

Bo,

True! But I was referring to the Queen of England. And for your reference to wanna...BEES, I will be in fact travelling with my own queen. My wife is an avid beekeeper and I frequently refer to her as MY queen. She has earned the title for having and taking care of many thousands of her bee 'babies'. I tease her about having names for each of her babies. They reward her with many gallons of sweet goodness!

It certainly does count if in fact it is true?

At this point, we are just hoping, but figured that since we are on a British ship with another Queen's name, that it just might happen. However, we don't know the Queen's schedule at this point, so we are also hoping for a possible meet up when we arrive in Southampton.

Could one of our British CCers out there advise her that we are coming?

Much appreciated!

About 20 years ago we lived next to a very nice couple but didn’t spend much time socializing. One day we ran into them outside and mentioned we are going on a cruise the next week. They replied “so are we.” We said “we are going out of Baltimore” ... you guessed it we were on the same cruise. Had some very enjoyable times with them. Shortly after that they moved and we lost touch. I do remember them fondly.

I was very sure that someone would have a hive on CC!

I would suggest that she is very deserving of a cruise after taking care of a hive.

Enjoy and Bon voyage

I've run into a coworker, and a TV weatherman from our hometown channel (can't recall his name) on Celebrity ships. Also have run into a few celebrities in my travels (not on Celebrity) - Mike Ditka, Scottie Pippen, Don King. Sat next to a great jazz performer - Nick Corleone - on a flight to Miami. Shared first class with Drew Brees on a rare occasion where we got upgraded, the same year he won the Super Bowl.

Not on a cruise, but MIL was touring Italy several years ago, and realized that 2 of her tour-mates were distant cousins from Australia (she's from Detroit).

Hubby and I were waiting to board a plane a few years ago for an adults only trip the Disney Food and Wine Festival, and who walks up but my daughter's basketball coach and his family. Met up with them later in Epcot to enjoy some snacks and the fireworks show.

Almost...kind of the same in reverse. My mom and I stayed at a hotel pre-cruise several years ago. While she was finishing her morning coffee, I went outside to admire the view of the marina. Happened to run into a girl about my age also travelling with her mother. Turns out we are from the same general area (northwest suburbs of Chicago), we are both "Susan", used the same TA to book the cruise, heading for the same ship on a shuttle scheduled to leave the hotel shortly, both work in downtown Chicago....and I'd walk past her office everyday on my way from Metra to my office! We've remained friends since!

Flight rather than Cruise boarding a flight to Vegas there was blockage directly in front of us at top of steps. I was loudly moaning when the bodies parted to reveal Donny osmond being fussed over by the stewardesses and my wife commenting that 40 years earlier I'd have been trampled to dust!

Bo,

She has seven hives and we have had a bumper crop this year! Nearly 30 gallons!

We are on the QM2 sailing on 8-26-18 and the Royal Princess sailing on 9-10-18. Are you on either of these? Join us and you might just get a good sample.

Two years ago we took a 3 day out of Port Canaveral on Norwegian EPIC. We splurged on the Haven and Saturday were laying out by the pool when a neighbor in our condo complex walked up and said hi. Neither of us knew the others were going on this cruise. Last year we were on an eastern Med cruise on Reflection. As we're walking back to our room after the show, I see a VP of a division from my company that I interact with almost daily. Never knew they were going on the same cruise. We had fun talking to them in a social environment rather than work. The funniest one was one year we decided on a certain cruise based on a great Youtube video this guy and his Dad made. They had showed the type cabin we were going to be in, the ship, and many of the ports we were planning on stopping in. We get on the cruise and there they are, the same two people who made the video were taking the same cruise again a year later.

22 years after moving from Pennsylvania to Delaware, a former neighbor recognized me in a very crowded place where one does not usually look at the people nearby. We were each touring Rome and she saw me when we were both in the ladies' room of the Sistine Chapel.
