Rare TLCOhio Posted July 17, 2020 #5327 Share Posted July 17, 2020 T.G.I.F!! It's Friday. Getting ready to enjoy the weekend?? Can you tell the difference? In case you missed it last night, I posted on the "SS Future Re-Open Plan" thread that the CDC has extended its no-sailing order till the end of September from the previously announced July 24 date. Maybe, if and if, sailing to start in October? Not good news for the cruise lines, but realistic given the rising numbers in Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, etc. The CDC was not kind and positive towards the cruise industry for how they handled (or screwed up) these situations earlier this year. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Rare TLCOhio Posted July 18, 2020 #5331 Share Posted July 18, 2020 Yes, it's Saturday and the start of the weekend. Here in Central Ohio it is to be a high of 93°F with what AccuWeather calls a "RealFeel" of 101°. It will be a combination of clouds and sun, hot and humid. Glad that our air conditioning is working well. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Rare TLCOhio Posted July 19, 2020 #5337 Share Posted July 19, 2020 It's hot, HOT here in Central Ohio and it is only around 10 am. See chart below. Getting ready to have our son and two grandsons visiting us starting on Wednesday afternoon. First time to see them since before our Feb.-March travels to New Zealand and the South Pacific. Then, the Covid-19 lock-down hit us. They've been out of school down in Virginia and need some changes of scenery. In nearly six months, I'm sure we will see lots of growth and change with our grandsons, ages seven and nine. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio Norway Coast/Fjords/Arctic Circle cruise from Copenhagen, July 2010, to the top of Europe. Wonderful scenic visuals with key tips. Live/blog at 239,885 www.boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1227923 From AccuWeather, here is our weather in Columbus looks for the next two. Lots of heat, sunshine and very little rain. I loved the weather report today on the local news alerting us that we’re going to be very humid today with a rate pushing 40%. I just laughed. As a Coloradan, we’re so spoiled. Native Coloradans have no idea what real humidity is like. 1

Appreciate the nice follow-ups about our upcoming family visit/reunion, etc. PLUS, all of the comments about the humidity, etc. Nice to know that silkismom had those Dayton area experiences while at Wright-Patterson AFB. Very nice Air Force Museum is located there with an awesome collection of air-related history. Below is the current weather details from AccuWeather. 50% humidity here, but some breeze. Yes, very hot and challenged. Could be better? Could be worse? THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
dawntrdr Posted July 19, 2020 #5344 Share Posted July 19, 2020 A hearty amen to Mr. Terry's recommendation about the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Huge, informative and no entry fee ever. It's indoors, air conditioned and full of not only warbirds but the history of flight, spaceflight and the Presidential Air Force 1's. They recently opened a special exhibit for the WWII Memphis Belle. If our choices now are land travel only, that is worth a visit (it's open, check out their website). Appreciate these added, above helpful details and follow-up regarding the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Well summarized!! We have not been there in the past few years, but I understand this attraction has been significantly improved and has been nicely expanded. Below is a bonus, extra posting to help us through these challenging days. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
QueSeraSera Posted July 19, 2020 #5346 Share Posted July 19, 2020 Your kids might find Ohio cooler than here Terry. 102 forecast for tomorrow, 100 today. Anytime outdoor temperature goes above body temperature, I shut down within about 15 minutes outdoors. Zqtchas' wildflower garden looked so great I'm trying to start one here. Started off ok, seeding and raking into the soil. Then the heat started getting to me and I just threw the rest of the seeds down, and returned to AC & iced tea. Probably be a bird feast (vs elk feast where Stumbles lives) before I can get to it tomorrow....
