Does RCI usually run a labor day weekend "sale"?

I have been tracking a cruise for a while now. I wasn't ready to book when it was low to the point I would have booked but was waiting on a few financial things to clear first. When I was ready a few weeks later it was up 300 bucks and now even more. Does RCI usually run a labor day weekend "sale"? Meaning is the reason the price might have been rising just so that it looks like a sale?

This year it’s 50% off second guest, up to $100 instant savings and kids sail free through December of 2029 with many blackout dates.

Do you know when the kids sail free booking will start? Meaning, when will we be able to start booking that? I have heard Aug. 30, and I have heard Sept. 1. I have been waiting for kids sail free for 2019 fall cruises. Thanks!

Thanks guys. As much as RCI plays games with sales I will jump on kids sail free. The last time I let I was too slow. This time I will not.

We saved a LOT on the kids sail free promo. As you know, it's one of the only sales that seems to actually be a sale :)

Yes exactly right. Its the only sale that RCI runs that is worthwhile. It is limited in what sailings but usually can find something.

Royal is always running a sale but if the price of the cruise you are watching is going up, don’t expect any sale to lower it, especially if that cruise is selling well. Pricing is normally based on supply and demand, not any sale.

Well if it remains this high I will not be booking. Its as simple as that.

They like to play with numbers a lot. We booked our Baltic cruise on a 30/30 sale... each guest gets 30% off. The week after, they were touting Second guest gets 60% off... Exact same price. Lately there have been several 50% off second guest. But we did good to purchase Baltic cruise as soon as itinerary was available because the same cruise and room is now substantially more and no sale is coming even close to our purchase price.

I think Caribbean cruises get better deals as cruises get closer to sail date if they are not full.

Only if you booked at 50 percent and the price has not increased since then

Wow that is some way to judge a sail! Ha ha :') Oh also for everyone NCL seems to be playing weird games too with sales and fares. friends and family sail free is not exactly the way it sounds. When I did Breakaway a few years ago fares were easier to understand. They were broken down easier to understand. Now its kinda fuzzy math. RCI isn't the only one being sneaky or playing games.

Like everyone says just book a price that you are comfortable with and don't even look at the sales

I book very early - have found 95% of the time prices go up, not down. I watch prices almost daily and have received some price breaks. But as a rule, prices go way up. Right now, every cruise I have booked (and I have 20 booked right now) every single one of them is significantly higher than I originally paid.

So I keep watching, but I am a huge planner and would rather book as early and far out as possible. Our schedules allow us to major pre plan so I book pretty much all non-refundable because the only thing that would stop us from going is something major and I carry trip insurance for that.

Forgive me if I'm reading it wrong...

But it seems to say at the bottom of the terms/conditions that it is only open to new bookings...?

So if I already have a reservation and the price drops (for KSF) I can't take advantage of this sale?

Is that right?
