On Sunshine in December, there were indeed line-ups for the Playlist shows, but lots of reasonably good seats available even a few minutes before the start (maybe that was just a fluke).  If you want to hit any of the later Comedy club shows, you definitely need to get there early.  The first show of the night you could wander in 10 min before the show and still get a sight-line seat.  (We did twice, again maybe just lucky.)

 

I cannot speak for the Vista class ships.

It is funny , but I have seen people do that with their towels . A few have even saved twelve or more seats with coats and the cloth hamburger napkins  from Guys.  One fellow just sat down anyway and this lady shouted  " Hay my husbands sitting there ".  He jumped up and said " Oh my god I didn't see him , he must be an awful small  ".
