It doesn’t matter the circumstances or how many stools are available, kids don’t belong sitting at bars - period.

It doesn't matter how many kids are sitting at the bar, grown men shouldn't be brawling - period.

I hope you're right. Doing the Bliss Haven later this year. I don't like kids.........

....in Adult areas.

I feel you, but I’m going to be pretty irritated that my well behaved kid is prohibited from sitting with me on the sun deck in the Haven that we booked specifically to be together.   It isn’t listed any where area as an “adult area”. I think the vibe and spice 2O and smoking zones are the adult only outdoor spaces.

I wouldn’t dream of letting her hang there by herself as she’ll only be 10 on our havenly booked trip.  But, under a parents supervision (and considering the retractable roof doesn’t seem to open) being outside in the Haven area should be allowed and frankly IS what we have paid for.   I’ll take the glare of the kiddophobics until they see we’re chill.

If she were an a-hole I’d be with you.  😜

I hope you you have a superb time in the Haven. I know we are looking forward to it.

You're gonna be pretty irritated.  No kids up outside on the sundeck.

Kids have free roam everywhere else in the haven. Having one (almost) adult area seems fair since other areas on the ship for those not in the haven have the same thing (Vibe and Spice).

yea...no  I don't agree.  You can be in Haven and pay for Vibe too, just in case you didn't know that :classic_biggrin:  It's like when I want to go to the spa, I pay for spa passes.

Yes, of course I know the Vibe costs. But it is not in the haven complex. The haven set up tries to be fair to all its guests, is what I am saying.

There is a pool, hot tub, loungers in the Haven that kids can use. And a kids pool area on the main deck. For adults paying big bucks for the haven that want to be in an adult area, there is the sundeck with two hot tubs. Not everyone is ever happy with a compromise but it is what it is.

I wonder if they bought Haven tickets outright or were "upgraded."

I'm a high school educated lineman with a technical degree(1 yr course not needed). I make good enough money for Garth Brooks to sing about me in his song big money. I paid over 10k to sail in haven for a week.

Problem with people is telling kids they have to have a college education to make good money.

They just have to WORK!

Stepson is lineman.  He does better financially than most people I know professionally, most of whom have graduate degrees.  And yes you have to work hard!

This is kind of reductive but okay. I don’t have a college degree either, and I’ve been doing IT Ops/admin for 20 years. Husband is a senior software engineer on a two-year degree from a tiny tech school. I’ll let you do the math on our household income.

I think the more important lesson isn’t to discourage people from higher education, but to discourage them from ridiculously high student loans for useless degrees. Those are the people who are in the most trouble now. It doesn’t mean higher education is bad, though, it just means people need to consider tech or trade school, starting at community and transferring to state school, etc. No one who isn’t a doctor needs six figures of student debt.

I have no idea how we got on this topic, though, because regardless of how much money you make or how you got your Haven room, if you’re getting in drunken fistfights you need to reassess your life choices. And possibly attend an AA meeting or three.

Not too sure what point you’re making now. What’s coming across is:

—college bad

—AA bad

—Don’t want to argue income but do want to tell everyone how much money I spend on cruises

🙂

As long as you can refrain from throwing punches onboard, you do you, man.

I guess having a decreased price haven room(bidding), set me off as if someone considered "steerage" which I like to think of myself as caused a problem. Aa is subjective on so many levels. Obviously everyone knows what a haven room cost here nowadays??

Collage is excellent for some no doubt in my mind. Just when I graduated 1999. We were basically told high school grad made 20k tech school made 30k collage made 50k. Also how much better off we would be having that kind of position.

its posts like this that make me glad we switched to Oceania for our premium-type voyages. They actively discourage children. Everything else is MSC for the most part. However, we just purchased a cruise on Carnival Horizon in the Havana area. They ban children under 12 there, and most of the cabins are dual occupancy.

Update.

Docked in Miami this morning. 2 Miami Dade police officers escorted into Haven at 9 am. I’m guessing they’re at least being interviewed if not arrested.

There’s a vacation to remember. Remember that cruise when Dad got arrested??!!!

A bar falls under the term "Adult Area".
