gatoruf Posted April 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2019 Has anyone recently purchased an IPA on the Reflection? If so, I plan on using onboard credit left to do this. Thanks

No iPads or laptops.
Redtravel Posted April 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2019 Bought an ipad on Reflection this winter. My spouse bought one on the Eclipse 2 2 2 years ago. Price is the same as in USA. Saved the taxes. Used OBC. If you plan on buying an ipad, go early in the cruise. There are a limited number sold on each cruise. The staff in the ilounge was very good setting up the new device and using their wifi to transfer files from my old ipad to my new one. Just know all your passwords. G.M.T. Posted April 12, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2019 On our last cruise DW promised me a personlised "i" device when we got home. Sure enough when I got home it was waiting for me, unpacked it and low and behold it was an iRon In future I will keep my "wants" list to myself. Rare chemmo Posted April 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) We purchased an iPad a year ago on Reflection and another last September on Eclipse. Totally agree with Redtravel, limited stock available, so visit early in your cruise. This has been our experience with cameras also. Provence55always Posted April 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2019 I bought one last February on the Equinox IPad Pro. The staff in the iLoung transferred everything from my old iPad to the new one. I was lucky to get last one available on day 4 of the cruise!! HS2BS Posted April 12, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 12, 2019 We were on Silhouette b2b this past February and when we boarded there were no iPads available. But, the I lounge person said that they would be delivered later in the cruise which they were. Using OBC on each cruise we purchased one on each cruise, 128gig for $427. Also had some 256s but no laptops or macs. Hal
Bruin Steve Posted June 7, 2019 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2019 I'm doing back-to-back cruises on Reflection starting in under three weeks... We have remaining $100 in cruise line OBC on the first cruise...and $300 in cruise line OBC the second...We already purchased all of our shore excursions prior to renegotiating our deals---which added the OBC...but at drastic sale prices--which keeps me from canceling and rebooking using the OBC...We also have all the other perks--internet, drinks and prepaid gratuities...all leaving us very little to spend the OBC on (We don't gamble and don't care about the spa)... So, since my wife's iPad is a little old--and getting to be sort of an antique, I was figuring this might be the opportunity to use our OBC on that...as long as the prices are, at least, no worse than at home. In an ideal world, they'd let us make a $100 "down payment" on the first cruise, then complete the purchase with the $300 OBC from the second cruise...but I am guessing they won't let us do that, correct? I take it they have different levels of iPads...wifi only vs. wifi/cell, different amounts of memory...Correct? Any incentives onboard? Thanks... They won't let you do that, the OBC is only for that cruise and won't carry over from one leg to the next unfortunately.
Aralim Posted June 7, 2019 #12 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Can't answer to the variety, but can confirm that the price is exactly the same as you will find on land. On the plus side, you will not pay any sales tax for the purchase since it's counted as duty-free.
Mr. Click Posted June 7, 2019 #13 Share Posted June 7, 2019 We were on Summit last July and had a pile of OBC and DW's iPad was on its last legs. Once we enjoyed the sailaway from Bayonne we headed down to the Apple store and as soon as it opened we picked one up. The selection was limited but they had one that worked for us. Indeed the pricing was the same as in the Apple store in NJ but no sales tax and most of the cost was covered by our OBC that would have gone to waste otherwise. Bottom line is go and look, do it early in the trip incase they run out.

HS2BS Posted June 8, 2019 #15 Share Posted June 8, 2019 Ipads On our transatlantic cruise on the Edge last month, we got a 128 gig @ $428, back in February on the Silhouette we did a b2b and bought one on each cruise. All were purchased with OBC and at the same price, lucky grandchildren! Hal
