Nieuw Amsterdam accident

On NA now.  Oosterdam hit our stern this morning while she was docking.

All appear to be OK.  Looks like damage is mostly deck 4 verandas

Will post more as we hear updates.  I have a feeling we may be late sailing for Alaska today

Thankfully no one was injured.

 

Seems like there have been a lot of accidents the last few months -- various cruise lines.

NA appears to have the most damage. At one point they were evacuating all cabins aft of middle elevators but cancelled the evacuation.  

Didn’t hear any medical pages so likely no injuries. We were tied up at the dock.

To the sarcastic post:  when two cars collide it is a motor vehicle Accident.  If someone breaks the windows out it is an incident

From the pics, looks like a couple NA deck 4 verandahs and one Odam deck 4 wrap NS took the brunt.

marinetraffic.com shows the ships docked stern to stern. Bummer of an accident, hope the damage is insignificant.

We were eating breakfast in Pinnacle and heard the Captain saying evacuate all stern passengers.   Looks like maybe deck 4 aft Neptune suite may have glass broken but I can’t confirm.

The picture looking down I just assumed was from the ship he is on and the other was a pic looking across at another ship, just from the pic perspectives.

Canada Place.  We were tied up. Oosterdam was pulling in behind us on the west side of the terminal.  Looks like some of the deck 4 verandas were damaged. Looks like some have no railings.

I was at Sea View pool with friends and the grinding sound was horrible.

No wind to speak of

Yes.  All safely docked.  Appears from up here cleanup is in progress.

i have a feeling we may not be sailed by on time today.

They are taking in transit into Customs at 09:50. Don’t even want to leave and face the crowds later with Bliss at the terminal

I live in Vancouver. The video was just on our local TV news. No injuries. Transport Canada is investigating. damage looked minimal.  It is always a tight squeeze on the west side of Canada Place with 2 or more ships. BTW: The NCL Bliss is on the east side and leaves at noon today to coincide with a very low tide. It will be a very tight squeeze under Lins Gate Bridge at about 12:30.
