Has anyone recently been on the Independence?

Recommended Posts

Hi, we just got home from Independence this past Saturday - it was fabulous! The only thing I saw was a frayed bit of carpet in our stateroom. Honestly the ship looked fabulous- we had a fantastic time.

Hi CC.

I am due to go on the Indie at the end of June and was wondering if anyone has recently sailed on her and if so what was it like?

Is it still in good repair?

Food okay?

Service?

Etc

We are also going at the end of June, can't wait. I've read some good reviews so we should be OK.

We were on the last transatlantic before the refurb.  At that time she was still picture perfect, great ship and outstanding crew.

Thank you.

I no longer take negative reviews seriously. I have always found RCCL decent overall.

Of course there is room for improvement but nothing is perfect.

Just got off her first of May—everything was out of this world, food great, service great and was the most beautiful ship In the ports

Any examples of the drink prices, specifically the cost of a can of soda? The reason I ask is that it was reported on social media that a can of soda was $7!

Last time we cruised, a can of soda was around $4 including tip.

But prices on Indy when sailing from the UK include gratuity and someone posted a photo of a receipt and it clearly shows $7 for can of soda on her first sailing this year from Southampton following the TA.

That's a huge increase, even for Royal!

We didn't buy any cans of soda so I don't know but that sounds very expensive, wine and beer started at $8. I think I'd bring on my own cans for that price.
