Hello are there any bad things with the Neptune suites aft wrap around balconies like noise smoke movement something. I notice there all still open on my eurodam cruise to Alaska and I was interested.  Currently I have a side signature suite

We really like the aft-wraps.  They are especially great for viewing itinearies, like Alaska.

Negatives - long walk to the Neptune Lounge and many other places on the ship, more "movement" on heavy sea times, and the cabins a a bit smaller than the side Neptunes.  Also, I have found that the cabin stewards are sometimes not up on the Neptune perks and correspondance as those near the Neptune Lounge.

Pesonally, I would go for it on an Alaska cruise.

A lot of people LOVE aft cabins and others don’t care for them.

There can be more movement or vibration in these cabins than mid ship.  And, of course they are further from the Neptune Lounge but, on the other hand, very convenient for the LIdo and MDR and of course, they have great verandahs.

We purposely chose an aft Neptune suite for our 2019 Alaska family cruise on the Eurodam.   We were a group of ten.   We had an aft Neptune suite on deck 8 while the rest of the group were in verandas on the 4th deck.  We never had a problem with smoke, noise or vibration.  We had moderate seas on the two open ocean legs so things were smooth.  We were a long way from the Neptune Lounge, but that was not a problem.  We seldom use the Lounge except to talk to the concierge.  Several times we made arrangements for hors d'oeuvres for our group for 6 PM happy hour in our suite.     The grandkids loved the fact we were one deck below the pizza oven, Lido and dive in.   Pizza, french fries or pasta available all day.   Our twelve year old grandson said his favorite part of the cruise was that he could get pizza anytime he wanted.    The aft wrap around balcony was large enough to hold our group of ten plus a couple of additional friends the grands met on board.   Plenty of tables and chairs on the balcony.  I personally think a Signature Suite has little to offer beyond a veranda.  A Neptune is a real step up.

We sailed in the corner aft Neptune suite on deck 8 of Eurodam and were concerned about noise.  Yes it's everything the OPs have stated, but the balcony is covered fully and some on the side wrap section too!  The balcony is totally private (especially from above) and absolutely perfect if you want to use your balcony in rain or shine; we were not bothered by any noise at all; and you're only one deck down from the buffet!  The pool area was directly above, but we did not experience any noise whatsoever.  I have no hesitations in booking the 8th deck aft Neptune cabin on Eurodam again!

We are just back from Neptune suite 4211 with the largest wrap around balcony of all at the back of the Koningsdam. This balcony is often windy and therefore we used it less often than the side balcony on a different cruise.

The furniture placement inside is odd with the sofa directly underneath the tv. The desk with 1 chair is opposite of the tv, the bed faces a window underneath which are the 2 leather chairs with a tiny coffee table. Anyway, we will not book this suite again. With the suite so far away at the end, hot water in the morning took 4 minutes until the cold water from the pipes was gone. They have no recirculation pump like we have in our house.

Other pros and cons are listed already. For us it is was more cons.

We also had an aft wrap on deck eight for our Alaska cruise on NAM.  It worked perfectly.  Our son and his wife were in a veranda on deck five so it was often four of us on the aft wrap balcony.  The balcony is fully covered which was nice because we had rain on several days.  While it is true that it is a bit of a walk to the Lounge it is one step below the Lido which was very convenient.  We had no noise from the Lido.  It's also a straight shot down to the MDR.  If we sail on NAM again we will book one of those aft wraps on deck eight.  Our next cruise is on Zweiderdam, a Vista class, so we went an aft wrap on deck five.  Hugest balcony in the world.

We had an aft Neptune wrap in early October on Eurodam and loved it. This was our 4th time in an aft Neptune Suite. It is long walk to anything, but we loved the location. We were on a Pacific Coast cruise and didn't notice excessive motion , the balcony s mostly covered so even if there was rain we could use it. Will look for a similar cabin next time we cruise.

I guess everybody is different, and you'll need to decide what matters to you...

I find the aft suites to be considerably smaller than the side suites.  For a 7 day trip, it wasn't too much of a hassle.  But, my next trip is 24 days (and very port intensive) so I changed to a side suite.

The aft wraparound is wonderful for glacier viewing, so I highly recommend for an Alaska trip (or Panama Canal).  On other trips, I'm almost inclined to recommend the side cabins.

But, again, it is strictly a personal opinion (and we all have one!).

I love the aft wraps on the Vistas. They're especially good for cruises that have "viewing" days. I have an aft wrap on Zuiderdam for a partial canal cruise this winter.

OTOH, I disliked the aft wrap on the K. The furniture arrangement definitely was odd. The only place to sit to watch TV was the bed. The shower was tiny. And the ship shimmied in the slightest wind. I had a side Neptune on the K last winter, and the cabin was larger, better arranged, better bathroom. The TV was still over the sofa, but at least there were chairs facing the TV. And I used the lounge more because I was close to it.

We had one of those aft Neptune Suites on the Oosterdam in Feb. and hated it for all the negative reasons Dave gave. It was a guarantee so we had no choice and have always selected a NS close to the Neptune Lounge, but had to take a guarantee with a deeply discounted casino offer. Never again! Too far from everything and a smaller room with too much furniture.

We had an aft twice once on the Noordam for Alaska and it was perfect for whale watching and glacier viewing.  We then had one on the Oosterdam for Panama.   I would recommend it highly for getting the whole picture although backwards going through the Canal.  Other than the drawbacks previously mentioned we got to our level 4 suite and had ship cleaning equipment on the corner of our balcony that never moved and we had a constant barrage or rust colored debris flakes that rained down on our chairs, table and railing.  I noticed the same on the upper level lounge chairs above the aft pool on the Kdam; it is just part of being on a ship I guess.  We didn't notice it until we ruined a few shirts.   There was the constant thrum of the engines but it was not disruptive and more than made up for looking at the wake as we moved along.   As was mentioned before the crew isn't as well-attuned to the Neptune Suite material delivery it seemed over our 16 days.  I don't think we ever got the evening's dinner menu delivered at our door as we did on the side suites.

We had a deck 5 aft-wrap on the Zuiderdam for our partial Panama Canal cruise and absolutely loved it!  It was fantastic for viewing how the lock operations worked.  Watching the "mules" work was great - one time they were so close to our balcony I felt like I could reach out and shake hands with the operator!  Since I do not handle the sun very well, the completely covered balcony worked great.

We never get the casino "offers", but do get a casino "rate".  While it is not as low priced as the offers, the rates do allow you to book any cabin on the ship, so we get to select the one we like.

I was on 5 the first time we did that itinerary. What a show to have while we had breakfast on the balcony! We did go up front with the other crazy early people, but then it was nice to retreat to our balcony for the remaining locks. When you're at the low point of your lock and there's a ship just coming into the lock behind you, it's a weird perspective.
