Cruise Cash

I was given a $50 Cruise Cash Bar as a gift for my cruise in January.  Can it only be used in the bar, or can I use it at the coffee bar for specialty coffee, Milk Shake, or stuff from there? (I am not a big drinker because of medicine, but do like my coffee and milk shakes. LOL.

I purchase bar cash all the time with redeemed reward points from my Carnival Mastercard. I had $350 on my last cruise and it worked at all bars and coffee bar. I currently have 3 cruises booked and coming up, and I’ve been dividing all my bar cash amongst those three. Alas, I won’t reach $350 per cruise, as I guess I haven’t shopped enough! Lol! (5,000 reward points buys $50 bar credits)

Cruise cash is on your cruise account.   and can be used for anything onboard-- INCLUDING the casino.

Cruise cash is non refundable so make sure you cash out at the casino if you have anything left

The OP is talking about Cruise Cash Bar and that can only be used for purchases from the bar. Regular Cruise Cash may be used the way you say it can be.

It used to be capped at $500 per cabin.

I don't know if that is still the case, neither do I know if that cap chamges with number of people in the cabin.

You can always check the Fun Shops on the Carnival website.

Happy sailing.

Well, if the website were working correctly so that it could be trusted!! Hahaha

Interesting, because on my last cruise I had a little left over that I didn't want to mess with, and about a week after the cruise I received a check in the mail with the unused balance.  🤔

Aren't you capped at a certain amount for Cruise Cash? Just curious.

I believe it is $500 per type (general, bar, and photo) and possibly also per cabin, not per passenger.

That's a nice surprise.  Are you sure you didn't have other refundable funds in addition to the non-refundable and that is what was returned?  Either way - yay!

I would NEVER buy bar cash or photo cash.   Like i said-- its non refundable.  At least with cruise cash I can get my money back from the casino

That's beside the point because the OP didn't ask about it and the OP didn't buy it- it was a gift.

I have always wondered about it but just saying it isn't refundable doesn't mean that they can legally hold on to it. This isn't something the consumer is given, like non-refundable onboard credit, this is something purchased by the consumer. I suspect that Carnival doesn't want the administrative burden so they say it's non-refundable (and limit how much can be purchased), sort of a reverse marketing tactic. I've never had a problem spending money onboard so I'll never find out, but I'd love to leave $25 of cruise cash unused just to see what happens.
