In my opinion, Tina and Michael were great.  Elvis was OK.

 

They do one show only during the week.  On both cruises, it was either the last night or the next to last night.  All 3 performers did one song each in an earlier show during the week, but they were not dressed up or acting as the Legend star.

 

Elvis sang Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".  Michael Jackson sang a Bruno Mars song.  And Tina Turner sang one of Aretha Franklin's songs (Natural Woman, if I recall).

 

If the Legends In Concert only preform just 1 night is there some other good performances that you would suggest? Also if they only preform just 1 night on board if you get lock out of the first show then I guess you have to come back for the later show and wait again?

They will perform 2 shows on that night.  There is plenty of room in the Pearl's theatre for shows.  You will not get locked out unless you arrive after the show starts and you simply cannot find a seat because it is dark.  Get to the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the show and you will have no problem finding seats.  All of the major shows on the Pearl are in the main theatre.  There are a few "events" like Newlywed Contest, etc. that are held in the Spinaker Lounge, but the bigger stuff is in the theatre.  Plenty of seating.  No one waits for seating.  There are 4 entrances on 2 levels.  Just walk in and find your seats.

Does it matter what level you enter the Pearl's theater on? Are the balcony seats good or should we shoot for a closer seats on the lower level?

Hubby and I are considering The Pearl for a half Panama Canal cruise in April 2020.  We've always cruised on Princess before but due to several challenges are considering this ship.  But it leads to several questions.  We are an older couple - I'm 76 and hubby is 78.  Is this a ship for a younger crowd?

 

1. Do they have "anytime" dining or do you have to schedule your dining in advance?

 

2. Do they have a non-alcoholic beverage package?  Hubby drinks coke and I drink diet Coke?  What is the cost? And can it be purchased in advance?

 

3. Hubby sleeps with a c-pap, do they have distilled water available even at a cost for this purpose?

 

4. Do they have a covered pool?  I can't be in direct sun.

 

5. What entertainment is there after the shows in the main theater is over?  Something other than casino or sitting in a bar.  Neither hubby or I are big drinkers.

 

I know there are more but that's enough to get started.  Thank you.

First time cruising on NCL this November out of Miami doing the Partial Panama Canal.  A couple of questions I hope folks might be able to help with :

 

1. We have a 5-day dining package but I don't really know what that means;  any thoughts?
2. I'm a craps player, can anyone tell me what the minimum is for the table?  $5 or $10 (hopefully not higher).

Thanks for any help - any advice/thoughts in general also appreciated.

The 5 day dining pkg means you can eat at 5 specialty restaurants....We reserved ours already.  Going to Cagneys Steakhouse, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro, Cagneys again and then La Cucina 

 

On our last cruise the Craps was $10 the first day and went down to $5 mid week....So I guess it can vary

I’ve only been on charters aboard the Pearl, but here’s what I think I can answer.

 

- pool is not covered. There is an overhang area on 2 sides of the pool deck where you may be able to snag a seat, but the pool itself is full sun. 
 

- NCL does have a soda package. I’m not sure of the cost, maybe $8-10 per day + gratuities. You can purchase it online after you book your cruise.
 

- They do have distilled water for cpap. I would call ahead to let them know you need it.

 

I’m not sure about dining or entertainment since cheaters can be different.

Well, since no one answered it, I’ll report back that yes, you can hear the stardust theater quite well inside the room. And the docking lines. And the room above, which was an equipment storage room for band equipment on this charter. All in all, not my favorite room.

1. No reservations needed to eat in the MDRs. NCL invented “freestyle” dining. It’s so popular that other cruise lines have added their own versions of “anytime” dining, but imho no one does it better than NCL.   If you intend to eat in any specialty restaurants, you may want to reserve those in advance, especially if you want to dine at popular times or on a specific day.

 

2. Yes.  But NCL is a Pepsi line. No Coke or Diet Coke. 
 

4.  The pools are not covered, but there are covered areas on the pool deck (Deck 12), as well as on Deck 13.  And the promenade deck (Deck 7) is covered. 
 

5.  Music in various venues around the ship, as well as “game show” type things (like the Newlywed Game, things like that) and miscellaneous entertainment.

This ship is for a younger crowd when chartered or short cruises. However

we did a partial Panama Canal on the Pearl a few years back. Mostly senior citizens.(at the time we were in

our 60's and felt we were on the right ship).

Has anyone just sailed on the Norwegian Pearl recently? I am curious what nights the shows were on as they usually have them on the same nights for all their cruises. Seeing that in May going to New England we are at a Port almost everyday it would help to know what night the shows are on so we may book some excursions with out rushing back for the show.
