Oasis Large Oceanview Balcony, Deck 6 or 9

Recommended Posts

This October I'm (hopefully) sailing on Oasis out of Cape Liberty in a large ocean view balcony. The only choices are Decks 6, 9 and 14. I've ruled out 14 because from what I've read it can be noisy, though I've never sailed Oasis class before so I have no personal knowledge.

These are the only Deck 6 choices, 6202 port or 6600 starboard, while Deck 9 is 9592 on the forward-angled section of the bump-out, starboard side. (The screen shots below keep posting connected as if they are the same deck but they are 6 and 9)  Is there anything that would make one location win out over the others? I'm most concerned with noise and not worried about convenience because I don't know where I'll be spending most of my time yet 😉

Also, is there a way to avoid being "upgraded" which sometimes results in a less desirable location? I'm not finding it on the cruise planner or the travel agent booking engine.

If you major concern is noise then take the cabin on deck 9. It is a nice location. If you go deck 6 then I would avoid the connecting cabins. The starboard cabin is a nice location. I don't know if you will hear any sound from the Royal Promenade one deck below.

There used to be a way in your profile to designate your preference for upgrades. I have not seen it in awhile. Maybe call RCI, or your TA, and ask them to make a note on your reservation.

As OceanBoy said avoid connecting cabin unless needed.

We are booked for Oasis Sept sailing in cabin 9196 and have stayed in this general area on other ships with same footprint and have always enjoyed.      I recommend cabin on deck 9.    No noise concerns from below or above you.

Enjoy and have fun planning😀

I'm in the minority  I would pick 6600  it's not connecting and we love deck 6

I have to ask since you’re on your own so far, what is it you like about 6?

We like it since it is only 2 decks up to Central Park and only 1 deck down to the Promenade and 2 decks down to the casino.  Schooner bar and Boardwalk are also on deck 6

I stayed on deck 6 once. You certainly make valid points. I really liked the convenience to the Vitality Cafe in the spa and it was an easy walk home from the Royal Promenade. However, I still prefer 8 or 9.

If traveling with children I would go with deck 6 because of the Boardwalk area. When just the 2 of us we usually do not care what deck but next year we have connecting junior suites on deck 6. We will have Grandkids with us then.
