hello all... first time to Aruba for me. Traveling with my friend. We just want to go to a great beach with chairs, umbrellas, and drinks 🙂 suggestions?

If you seek a lively vibe, plenty of bars, beds etc., then Eagle.  Ten minutes from port, should be shuttles available, if not, taxi (plenty), fare about $20.00 with tip.

Are you sure that you don't mean Palm Beach, not Eagle Beach?  Palm Beach has much more to offer with bars, vendors,  lively vibe. Eagle is more laid back, has a few bars,  but a lot of them are at all inclusive resorts and don't allow outsiders.  Even the resort that we stay at every year on Eagle no longer allows outsiders,  due to covid. There are just a few on Eagle Beach that allow cruisers these days.

Sorry, my mistake you are correct.  Please change Eagle to read Palm.

I take a taxi to Reflextions beach bar, It is near the airport away from the tourist crowds. Its a cove that is easy to to walk in and out of the water.  They have great food, drinks and service.  The server called a taxi to take us back to the ship..

We had a nice afternoon at Reflexions last week.

If you're just looking for a beach you can walk to from the ship, rent a chair and umbrella, have restroom access, and get drink and food service--there's nothing wrong with it at all. You do start seeing airplanes arrive (seemingly all together) in early afternoon, but we didn't find it overly annoying.

November 2021 We took a taxi to Coco Loco @ Eagle Beach. $40 for 2 lounge chairs with umbrella for the day. Tiki bar with food and adult beverages. Taxi was very reasonable. ~$20 oneway, Not crowded. close to port. rest rooms and outdoor shower.

Was chair and umbrella rental next to Coco Loco?

We're going to be in Aruba in 2 weeks, and we were thinking about hitting up Palm Beach for the day.  From the map it looks like there's a lot of resorts and hotels right on the beach, especially the southern part of the beach.  Are those parts of the beach private for those resorts, or can cruisers hang out anywhere?

Went to Mumba Beach today.  $16 taxi per cab each way from cruise port to beach, $30 for two lounge chairs and an umbrella.  Beautiful beach in front of the Marriott high rise properties.  There is a restaurant and bar and clean rest rooms.  We usually go to Eagle or Palm and this was just as nice.  All beaches along the hotel strip are open to cruisers as far as we know.

So the total per person (for 2 people) was only $31?

Also don't forget beautiful Arashi. All those listed above are good choices but I'm not sure I would go with Reflextions (Surfside Beach) for the simple fact there's only certain small spots you can walk out into the water and pretty much sit or they have a little pathway to hang out in with seagrass along the side (although they do have a pool there)

Do we ask Taxi to drop us at Mumba beach or marriott and are the chairs rented from Moomba beach cafe?

They have a little stand there between the tables/restaurant outside and the chairs lined up. You will rent the chairs from them.

Mumba is a good choice as most hotels will not rent chairs to non guests, though you can plop your towel anywhere.  Just be careful getting in and out of the water.    Tends to have a “ bump” to maneuver and floor is not hard sand.  Sometimes challenging to get out

@mitsugirly do you have the price to rent chairs/umbrellas, by chance? Also, if we're renting a chair/umbrella will we access to the pool? TIA

We have only rented chairs and umbrella once (while on a cruise) and at that time 2 chairs and an umbrella was $30. The other times we went we were on land vacation and brought our own chairs so can't comment if the prices have changed.

To use the restroom it is $1, but they never charged us when we went because they seen us buying food and drinks. There is no pool at Arashi.
