By the Numbers - Not Getting off Ship in Some Bahamas Ports

Booked on the Sunrise from 9-6 to 9-11.

Day 3-HMC

Day 4-Nassau

Day 5-Bimini (Changed from Grand Turk)

Carnival Test Requirement: 3-days prior to sale date.

Bahamas Entry Requirement: 5-days prior to entry.

If we get Carnival Test on 9-4, our eligibility for Bahamas-entry ends on 9-9 (Day 4) leaving Nassau-iffy and no Bimini.

We could chance it and get Carnival test on 9-5, but if results are late - no sail. PVP agreed. (And offered full refund!)

Am I missing something?

according to this article: https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/25620-bahamas-updates-testing-rules-for-vaccinated-cruise-guests.html the bahamas entry requirement is not needed. carnival will take care of it. Just worry about what Carnival requires to get onboard the ship

Agree carnival isnt going to port where people cant get off the ship without further tests.

Haven't read this article but another one stated that the five day rule did not apply to cruise ships.  They would go with the protocols set by the cruise line.

The PVP is mistaken.  Florida based cruise ship pax are not bound by the Bahamas entry protocol. They are bound by the cruise line requirements, subsequently approved by the Bahamas.

Here's the key line from the article.......

'All travelers entering The Bahamas on cruises that originate in the U.S. will be subjected to the testing requirements mandated by the cruise line and approved by the government of The Bahamas.'

I'm sure the theory behind is that the Bahamas can't make it impossible for folks to cruise there and still remain viable as a port option.

It’s true! Just went to Bimini and needed nothing more than boarding a cruise ship.

Appreciate the input. Our PVP confirmed our concerns and offered a 100% refund. There's a lot going on right now so perhaps she's mistaken or overwhelmed.

human error and misinformation are certainly acceptable in such trying times.
