On Pride, the casino bar and Alchemy would not give the free water.  Alchemy directed me to "any other bar" and Casino Bar directed me to Atrium Bar, where I finally scored that oh-so-elusive H2O.

Good to know.  Thanks.

That "advance status upgrade" perk during your "qualification cruise" is something that Carnival Gets Right.

Meanwhile on Royal, you're not granted your status upgrade until after your qualification cruise.  😮

Lol before or after as long as I get my pts. Rcl gives me as a solo a extra pt, and all my cruises thru 2022 double the 2 pts, 28 pts for 7 days. I'm not complaining.

Carnival was enforcing diamonds off first, then plats last week on vista. I turned to a friend and said maybe I need to book that one more cruise and push to diamond after all lol. With so many casino cheapies, diamond is a dime a dozen now.

Agree with the guy above carnival needs a level above diamond with perks to give people something to shoot for. People like to have a higher level to look forward to. Diamond at 200 pts is too easy.

What CCL needs to do is "raise the bar" for Platinum since they're getting too many people who qualify.....but don't tell them that since I'm only a cruise or two away from Plat.  😄

(Just imagine the outcry if they did...and I confess I'd probably be one of them.)

Well I got my water from the atrium bar. I think I forgot to sashay on the way though. And it’s actually really hard to look “hoity poity “ fanning yourself with a tiny gold card.  Whoever said I needed a gaudier fan was right.

My TA copy of reservation shows my VIFP as gold, which we are, but on Carnival site they have us as new cruiser.  I tried calling Carnival, but got tired of waiting, so I just emailed TA, let her take care of it.

I am glad I went into Carnival and actually looked at our reservation.

My husband and I should hit gold status half way through this cruise.  However, our boarding passes already list us as gold.  That was a surprise.  So will we in fact, get gold sail and sign cards?  Not that there are any gold perks to write home about, but heck! I'll drink that free bottle of water just to say I did.

Congratulations on your upward status change. Enjoy the bennies

Hi my wife and I will also hit Gold part way through our next booked cruise but my VIFP is still saying Red. Will we click over before the cruise or mid way through sorry I just can't seem to get it straight

before the cruise. How close to your sail date are you might have to wait close to check into to see your upgrade

Yes, you change colors for the whole cruise where you hit the milestone number.  Happy drinking!

I think I read somewhere on this board that someone was turning platinum mid cruise and they were issued a gold card. They went to GS and were told they could turn it in for a platinum card on the actual day they officially turn Platinum. 🤷‍♀️

Guests graduating into a new level during a cruise will receive the benefits of the new level they are graduating into from the beginning of the cruise (e.g. those graduating to Gold on the 3rd day of a 5-day cruise will receive Gold benefits for the entire duration of their cruise). Please note that ‘debarkation day’ is not considered a ‘cruise day’, therefore, points are not earned for that day.

Understood.  I am turning platinum on my next cruise.  My luggage tags and everything say priority.  The poster said they got all the "perks" of Platinum, just their card was still gold.

Lucky you! I turn gold halfway through my cruise and they still have me listed as red. 🤷🏾‍♀️

On your boarding pass? Your boarding pass after online checkin should be Gold but on the rest of the website it will show you as Red until after your Gold cruise. If the boarding pass or your S&S card are wrong go to Guest Services and they can sort it out pretty quick
