Terrible dinner....no one at the table could cut their prime rib....waiter said it was our fault because we should not have ordered it "medium".

Was replaced with the smoked pork loin.... which was not pork loin but actually was ham. No one at the table could eat that either.

Very disappointed with this dinner, we are sad to report.

Couple of additional insights at the midpoint of day two. Average age of cruiser seems quite old.  Wife and I are 50's (actually she just turned 50, and I'm at the upper end of 50s), and we feel very young on this ship.  No issue with that, just an observation.

Few disappointments.  The buffet selections are, I'm my mind, very limited compared to what we have come to expect.  It's not bad food, and we have only eaten there once (today, a port day, for lunch), but still expected more substance to the buffet options.

Have you had a chance to check out the late night DJ?  Bringing our 25 yo DD and her boyfriend with us and hoping they have some kind of nightlife they'll enjoy.

Also, did you notice if they have an ethnic section in the buffet?  I love when they have different curries on offer.

That's disappointing to say the least.  Although to be fair, I like my prime rib still saying moo.

Moved the clock ahead last night....sea day and "dress to impress" night in the dining room.

Got charged for a bunch of drinks yesterday even though we have princess plus. Still not removed from account yet.

Glitch in the app?  I got in the habit years ago of checking our account every morning and every evening.  Let us know how you get it resolved - it could drive you to drink.

Yes we were just on the Enchanted and we had the same minor issues.  They sorted it all out by the end.  We checked morning and night everyday, was easy enough to do.

Minor inconvenience, but inconvenient nonetheless

Cheers

Hi. I’m Cindy from Toronto.  I’m not on this cruise but am thinking of going on the Dec. 4.11, 2021.

I am interested in knowing what the aft cabin is like…. Is there overhead cover? Is the balcony size the same as others in its category?  Is it too windy or too hot? And is there hot shower water? Someone once mentioned that the water line reached aft cabins last and hot water was very hard to come by.

Cheers and have a great time!!

We’ve been on board now for a little more than 2 hours. Embarkation got a little backed up during security and when they checked our documents. It definitely helps to have your passport, Covid test results, and Covid vaccination proof out and ready to be checked. Other than that it was quick and we were soon on the ship to a round of applause from crew members. We first went to the Sanctuary to make a reservation. By the time we got there it was mostly booked. We only wanted to reserve a half day to try it out and luckily got the last morning availability on Thanksgiving. After that we went to our cabin, it’s our first time having an aft balcony! We watched our muster drill video and then went to check in at our muster station.

On our way to the dining room for lunch we grabbed our first cruise drinks at Vines! We were very interested in the Winemaker’s Dinner that we read about here on Cruise Critic. We asked about it at guest services, but she didn’t know what we were talking about. Vines said to ask at the dining room. At first, the dining room said to call the reservations line. I said everyone keeps telling us something different. We were then directed to another crew member who took our information down and said we would get a call telling us when and where the Winemaker’s Dinner would be. Thankful that’s done, we sat down in the Estrella dining room and enjoyed our lunch. Now off to explore more of this beautiful ship!

Please let me know how you find the aft balcony. I am looking at booking the Dec. 11 Sky cruise.

much appreciated and have an awesome cruise!!

I reviewed the posts and saw the pictures you posted.  Looks good.  Are the balconies completely sheltered?  Any chance of sun at noon?

We had our Cruise Critic meet and greet this morning in Take 5. Captain Heikki Laakkonen and other Head Officers came to introduce themselves. It was very nice. Thanks for putting that all together @thisislou! Then we went and did our slot pull in the Casino, we tried our hardest, but unfortunately we didn’t win anything. Still had fun though! Now we’re back at Vines (this has definitely become one of our favorite spots) and listening to live instrumental music from the Piazza.

It’s been very difficult to post to cruise critic (it’s much easier to post on instagram and twitter where I’m posting under the same username if you’d like to check it out). Here I go again…

We enjoyed our first time at Princess Cays. We just relaxed on a lounge chair and got in the beautiful water a couple times. It was so hot today! And we’re from South Florida! When we decided we were done in the sun, we tendered back to the ship and sat down for some pizza at Alfredo’s. Delicious! My husband is worn out from the sun and taking a nap, while I’m reading (not so much since I keep trying to post this to cruise critic) and enjoying a glass of wine in Vines!

  I read it recently.

We’re loving our aft balcony so far! We’re on Riviera deck (14) and our balcony is very large. Larger than the deck below us (12). We don’t have any overhead cover, though maybe some lower decks do. Our shower water has been very hot (my husband loves really hot water and I’ve had to turn it down after he showers). Hope that helps!

CruisinChandler:  First, MANY thanks for all of your comments and posts.  Since DW and I will be on the Sky Princess this summer, and will be sailing on the Regal Princess out of Port Everglades in early January, your info is really helpful.

Second, where did you get the wonderful Billecart-Salmon champagne?  I didn't see it on the Princess wine list.  Did you bring it aboard yourselves?

Wife an I have sailed on almost 30 cruises, but the embarkation on this ship was by far the fastest and easiest ever. It literally took us about 15 minutes from the time we were dropped off at the pier by the Uber driver to being inside our cabin. Amazingly fast.  We did, however have the earliest embarkation time, and are platinum with princess. I really don't think the Platinum status made a huge difference though, as it was just a super efficient process.  (Snip...)

Brovol:  Thanks for all of your comments.  What time did you get to the pier?

DW and I are platinum and in January will be in a suite on the Regal Princess' departure from Port Everglades.  We hope to duplicate your speedy embarkation.
