Half Moon Cay Villas

We are renting a Beach Villa on HMC for the first time.  Last time we did a cabana but that was years ago.  How do we pick which villa we want or do they get picked for us?  The email said that we would receive tickets in our stateroom.  Any help would be appreciated.

Might be like the cabanas- first to guest services once on board gets first pick. Just guessing.

Guest services called us on boarding day to come down and select our villa.  We chose Villa A.  Loved it!

Several were taken by the time we went to guest services, so you may want to go as soon as you board.  We were not pickey, and were very happy with our villa.  We would choose it again!  Had a wonderful day!

Exactly correct you are.

If you need disabled access I think you would need Villa E but Villa A is the closest to the ship wreck bar

Yes, particularly if you want a specific villa.  We had three choices when we went to guest services.  A,C, or D.  Depends on how far away you want to be from the pier, buffet, or action.  They will show you a map when you select.

Last time we had a villa we had to go to the shore excursion desk to chose, not Guest Services.  If you don't get there early they will get in touch with you, but you will likely get whichever one is left.  Honestly they are not very far apart and we would be happy with any of them, but our choice is the farthest away from "Water Shuttle" docking area.

If the shore excursions desk is open, definitely go there!  We cruised on the Sunrise in September, 2021 and were definitely told to go to guest services.  Like everything else, probably covid related.  Again, if you want a particular villa, ask when you get on board.

In the past, this has depended on what cruise line you are on. Holland America allows you to pick the villa when you book. Carnival makes you wait until you board. Based on the comments,  it sounds like this thread was moved over from the Carnival board.

We went to the shore excursions desk when we boarded and picked out Villa A. It worked great.

We rented villas A and B for a group of 18 in March of 2018 to celebrate our 50th anniversary.  Everyone in our family continues to call it the best day ever.  Holland America provided two young women butlers, all the food and drink one could want and floats, etc.  It was a perfect day.  The youngest of our family (age 6 at the time) said it was so much fun that we should do it again on our 100th anniversary.

 

The villas are very well equiped -- bathrooms, hot tub, kitchen, loungers  == just everything was absolutely perfect.  Would be happy to answer questions.  Of course, that was pre covid, but I would do it all again tomorrow.

Which Villa is the nicest? I saw some videos online and there seemed to be some variability in the furniture and appliances. If you could go again, which would you choose? Thanks!

The Villas are identical, except their color schemes. Your preference on if you want to be closer to the music from the Pirate Bar, or further away.
