seaman11 Posted February 19, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2022 So my question is do we get obc for taxs port charges for canceled port?
pe4all Posted February 19, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2022 I am also on this cruise. The cruise contract allows the cruise line to change itineraries. We really are not "missing" a port. Coz, GC and Jamaica were replaced with 3 "new" ports. We might see some obc for some port taxes if there is a difference between our old and new itineraries taxes, but I wouldn't count on it.
DramaQueen22 Posted February 19, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2022 You will get the fees back for taxes and port charges. You will probably see them as a credit to your Sail and Sign. There will still be fees and taxes for the new ports, so there may be an offset rather than a full refund in that case
jsglow Posted February 19, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) Any net adjustment to your port fees and taxes (clearly there's new ones replacing old, right?) will 100% show up on your S&S account, even if occurs mid cruise. We had to miss Grand Turk a couple weeks back 😩 because of strong cross winds. By the next day there was a credit on our account. And while it hasn't been asked, nobody is getting any kind of $50 OBC for a missed port anymore. Given cruise pricing these days coupled with the understanding that flexibility is paramount, I'd say a completely reasonable policy adjustment. Rare BlerkOne Posted February 19, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2022 No compensation. Maybe a few bucks for port taxes and fees,

blondeterp Posted February 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2022 We are on the ship too and disappointed about the itinerary change. We had really been excited about our excursions. Do we know why it changed?
mz-s Posted February 20, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2022 Used to you'd get a $50 OBC either automatically as a goodwill gesture or if you called and asked for it. But that doesn't happen anymore since COVID.

To get to Cozumel was way out of the way, so switched to a more "Bahamas" route. Probably cheaper in the long run for CCL also - less fuel.
