After dinner we went to an early magic show in the Explorers Lounge starring  Greg Moreland followed by another fun game show called Guest Survey It!

I'm a big fan of Women's Golf.  The Womens US Open is at Pine Needles while we'll be on board.  Do any of the bars qualify even remotely as a sport bar where I might be able to bribe a bartender to put it on the tube?  😀

Did anyone answer your question yet? Unfortunately I don’t frequent any lounges other than briefly to Crooners and the Explorers Lounge to get my triple Baileys before the evening show. But maybe someone with more CB lounge knowledge following this thread may know if there is a sports bar on the ship?

Really enjoying your live from.  We went thru the Panama Canal in 2015 and there was a lot of earth still being moved for the new locks, very nice to see the finished product!

I'm really enjoying reliving my Panama Canal cruise thru your postings.  It's been about 10 years since my Panama Canal cruise which is my favorite cruise on my favorite ship, the Coral Princess.  The cruise is a great mixture of port and sea days.  The ports are a nice mix of beach, nature and history.  Unfortunately the cruise now has one less port than when we went.  Our cruise stopped in Cartagena, which was very interesting.  Thanks for doing the live report.  I've been following with interest as I'm getting on CB when it reaches Florida.

 I have found that sports are usually playing in the Casino bar.... (I hope I am remembering the right cruiseline...it may Celebrity I am thinking of)

Some lines have one that's obviously the sports bar.  Others not so much.

Today is a sea day as we cruise towards Aruba for a morning arrival tomorrow. But I have to say it was nice being gently rocked to sleep last night by the Caribbean. I wouldn’t say it was super rocky, but it was the first night on the cruise we heard our closet hangers talking to us. 😁

I just found out that they didn’t deliver our EZCheck papers to our stateroom. They claimed it was because they didn’t have our flight info but we booked flights thru them!! Anyway due to CC I knew to go ask this early.  So much easier that it’s well worth $25 each. If you are onboard and haven’t gotten your papers to sign up, go ask at passenger services.

I appreciate the shot but please don't spend a lot of time on it.  I don't smoke but I do like the smell of a good cigar and a nice bourbon so if Churchill's turns out to be the spot it will be OK with me.

Our March cruise was so rough we ended up putting all the unused hangers on the floor.

Went by the Casino bar this morning on the way to the lecture and asked the question. Their answer was if it’s being aired live on the network station (NBC, CBS, etc), they can change the channel to it. But not if it’s on ESPN.

I asked that specific question of our guide when we boarded our 13 passenger van. The short version is no, they are not mandated. In fact Princess pretty much didn’t offer any guidelines to the tour company.
 

In the beginning I would say all but 4-5 passengers were wearing masks. By the end of the 4 hour tour, where we were in the van between 5 to 20 minutes between stops, us and maybe one other couple were still wearing masks. It’s like some folks are still in denial as to what’s been going on.
 

But, hey, we’re good and really that’s all we can do is to protect ourselves. We’re double boosted and our T-cells are working on over drive after a recent bout with a regular head cold a few weeks prior to the cruise. Now, if we were on the next leg after this one, we would probably be a little more conservative when booking excursions, like on a catamaran or open air bus, since we would have to pass an antigen test. 😁

It doesn't help matters when last night on the news the White House Physician tells the public to get ready for another Covid variant wave which is in New England now and is headed down the east coast.  Maybe some of the passengers on your cruise saw this news report or read it online and decided to keep wearing masks.

when i asked if there was a sports  bar onboards, she told me yes, that is was Churchills

 

I asked if Churchill's still a smoking allowed place and she said yes

 

i asked if there was another sports bar , and  she said yes, that in the casino they have screens

 

again a smoking permissible place

 

then i asked what about a big sports  event , might it be played on MUTs?

 

she said it would have to be a major sports event to be played on MUTs

 

i asked “like the superbowl?”

 

and she said “yes, like the superbowl”

Churchill's does seem to be the best choice.  I don't smoke but I do like the smell of a good cigar and a bit of bourbon.  Looks like Saturday and Sunday will be on NBC so I might get lucky.

Works for me. Wearing a mask in crowded spaces on a cruise has become a new normal for my DW and I. I have to admit I’ve enjoyed not coming home from our 9 previous cruises since they started cruising again with any type of illness, let alone C19! 😁
